This is the most depressing rendition of La Marseillaise I have ever heard. Normally this is a song that makes me want to drop everything and join the Foreign Legion, this rendition makes me want to take a nap.

This presentation did nothing for me, but I will definitely aim to experience the Paris Games in person (if only for a couple of days and for a few sports).

The rumor was that the flag was supposed to be a real, and a huge stunt. I’m not sure what happened with that…I thought they did a test run last month. Clearly they had to pivot to the CGI version.

Hungarian commentator said that the weather conditions didn't make it possible. I am guessing the wind was too strong.
