Crazy and epic comeback of the young Russians against the host USA.

USA was leading 5-1 at the 25th minute but did not win the match. The biggest comeback in the U18 Top division history.

Highlights

What just happened? Defending champions :SWE just lost to :CAN 12-1 :yikes:

Does Sweden have a depleted team @hckošice?

No, as far as I know, they have here more or less pretty everyone, no one exceptional is missing.

Canada is just too good in this age category. This is nothing new, we are not like discovering America here, it is a fact that has been known for many years and the difference unfortunately only deepens more and more by each year.

But also keep in mind such results are nothing unusual in the U18 at all, blowouts are pretty common + Sweden having in their legs last night match. Canda fully rested and motivated to start the tournament. A bad bad day-off goaltending in SWE team. Problems with discipline resulting in many PP chances for Canada.

all this led to this result

But personally, I am more shocked and impressed by :BLR who literally destroyed :SUI  7-1 !!! SUI is in huge crisis, we saw it at the U20 this year, we saw that not a single :SUI player was drafted last year, but this start to be really worrying for the SUI future. In other hand Belarus has a very promising generation, they already showed their potential in 2019 (but that was a real special generation) now it looks that also this year team is pretty good.

    • If Colturi were to return to Italy, we will have another super duo after Goggia and Brignone. If Colturi has to return, it would be right now, when alpine skiing is so popular here. There are still girls like Pirovano, who are quite young and are already started winning. Alpine skiing in Italy is similar to ski jumping in Poland: there are speak about no young talents, but there is always someone new – it is a matter of the popularity of these sports in these countries and the large amounts of money invested in them.
