Only 13 NOCs qualified in total, same as 2018 (if you count South Korea and the united Korean team as one NOC).

:CAN:USA:FIN:ROC:SUI:CZE:SWE:DEN:CHN qualify in both men's and women's.

Very nice to see :DEN make it's debut in both men's and women's ice hockey at the same time. First time this has happened outside of hosts and ROC/OAR, which doesn't really count.

After Denmark, first ever participation at the Olympics also for :CZE woman hockey team

Congrats sestři :d

Thank you! :) I am so so happy for them. It always bothered me that the *most popular sport in the country* didn’t have a women’s team anyone cared about.

Now with the disastrous men’s team results at Karjala people are commenting at the players “you should take an example from the girls”.

I think we have a realistic chance at a bronze medal, but only if we win Group B and avoid Canada/USA in the quarterfinals.

I kinda agree, Sweden is not the old Sweden they used to be ..... experience from last champs, Finland is playable so then, it depends on luck a current mental state. I would kinda expect semifinals for US, Canada, Russia and I hope Czech :-)

Yeah, everything will be based on that quarterfinal. It is just absolutely essential to win the group to avoid CAN/USA in the QF then it is all open.

I agree, I think :CZE is favored to win group B (though that’s going to be very competitive). Winning group B would presumably mean playing :FIN in the QF. Very difficult match but not impossible.

    • Back in the 1970s, in the USA, it was called “Modern Rhythmic Gymnastics”   Coming back to edit this, since the sport was miniscule in the USA at that time, it’s probably how the FIG referred to it as well.
    • Although she did win bronze, I would add 1972 OG - Janet Lynn 4th in figures, 1st in FS.  Trixi Schuba,  1st in figures, 7th in FS.   And another one to add - 1984 Brian Orser  7-1-1.  Scott Hamilton 1-2-2.
    • Rhythmic Gymnastics The 2026-27 World Cup series will be part of the qualification process. This will occur after the 2026 World Champs, but before the 2027 World Champs. The top 2 eligible individuals and top eligible group will qualify. This caused a reduction of quotas available at the 2027 World Championships which now offer 12 individual and 4 group quotas.
