  1. Tonight in "instant karma", a Bolsonaro voter kicking a car from Lula's supporters.
  2. As a fun fact, Bolso was heavily supported by Neymar in this election, who did multiple posts in social media and even appeared in a live feed of the president. Now people are joking that Neymar will never win something important (Ballon d'or, World Cup title, or the election).
  3. Not at all, I would say that although many of his followers are "extremists", I would like to believe there are also good people in the mix. But evangelicals in Brazil (about 80% votes for him) can't see anything past religion, which is sad.
  4. Bolsonaro allies have a lot to celebrate (biggest party in the chamber of deputies, about half of the state governors elected), it won't be an easy term for Lula.
  5. I would say most of his supporters don't really care about the economy, education, public health and such, but only his morals, since he is "pro-family" and has "christian values". A simple google search shows that he's not such things, but nothing he does will be able to convince his supporters otherwise. It's staggering that 58mi people voted for him, but I'm relieved that this nightmare had ended (for now...)
  6. I'm most upset about Flavia than anything else. Hopefully she still can compete in team final but is unlikely we'll fight for the quota now (especially if she sits out in FX and BB). It was shocking to see Rebeca out of vault final but she can get that medal next time.
  7. Lula is officially announced as the winner.
  8. @LuizGuilherme starting to think that Bolso will win in Minas and you will stop the perfect record of predicting the winner
  9. He knows he wouldn't have the support to change anything.
  10. 93% of counted votes, Lula leads 50,60-49,40. Closer election ever (but Lula still will get some votes). If confirmed, Bolsonaro is the first president in 25 years not to be re-elected, a testament to his terrible government.
  11. Most of the rights were achieved before his government. Hopefully brazilian supreme court won't go against it.
  12. Datafolha projects Lula as the winner.
  13. That's a understatement lol he want us killed
  14. Lula narrowly surpasses Bolsonaro in Amazônia, meaning he's only behing in Minas Gerais compared to first round (77% counted votes, 45k vantage to Bolso).
  15. Eduardo Leite (Rio Grande do Sul) is the first openly gay politician to be elected a state governor in Brazil (he wasn't out in first term). He's right-wing btw.
  16. Fortunately, many states where he's winning don't have a big population. Compared to first round, Bolsonaro is now winning in Amazonas in Minas Gerais, but very thin margin in both.
  17. Btw, that is far earlier than most projections had (Lula was expected to surpass Bolso only with 88% counted votes), although they certainly didn't expect São Paulo and Rio to be so slow in the counting. Bolso still can win.
  18. With 67,76% of votes counted, Lula surpasses Bolsonaro.
  19. That's why the margin has been decreading so slowly. Bolso still can win with these 2 states alone.
  20. 60% of votes counted. Bolso leads 50,10-49,90. 150k votes margin.
  21. So the same as USA, since Biden was far from a perfect candidate. If you want to compare, Lula is basically Biden trying to contain Bolso/Trump damage, but I'm aware many wouldn't vote for him otherwise.
  22. Half of the votes counted. Bolso leads 50,26-49,74. Only 300k votes of difference.
  23. And he's still winning there. If Lula's loses I'm blaming you
