  1. Here’s a fun way to commemorate the Olympics of this decade (they one going from 2010-2019):
  2. Bos has an injury and won’t be starting for a while.
  3. I just hope we actually get an Asian Winter Games this cycle. There’s never been a better time for them in my opinion.
  4. Great. Now I have to watch “The Witcher” since critics killed it, and the gamers loved it. I’ve played a little bit of Witcher 3, but I’ll be going in essentially blind.
  5. Both of the upcoming Para multi-sport games have been postponed . ASEAN Para Games have been moved to March, since the organization was worse than the SEA Games. The 1st African Para Games have been postponed until further notice (which is a problem since they offer Paralympic qualification in multiple sports). They had been due to be held in a months time in Rabat, but Morocco has a spat with the APC, and now the games are off. IPC hasn’t confirmed this, but I’m sure it’s true, and that they’ve desperately trying to save face. 2020 YOG will be the only multi-sports games in January now.
  6. Supposedly have entered this weeks Asian Championships . Nothing is official since the entry lists haven’t been posted yet, but the FIL Instagram had evidence of such sliders. I believe should also been in attendance. We really need an Asian Winter Games with luge at this point.
  7. I really liked this video. It’s a world that I’ve never known, but I find it powerful. LA is obviously unfortunately world famous for its violent gang wars. It’s really nice to see that we’re at a point where gangs are at least willing to talk with one another, and discuss positive methods to influence their communities. I’ve always thought that studying gang politics would be very interesting. Anyways, I just wanted to share this video for those interested:
  8. I try (and will try) to do that, but on days where there is dozens of events, it’s hard to do that. The live blog will be focused more on results, with social posts and moments of interest cycled in too (as well as the IOC Session). The articles will be more informative and personal.
  9. What “Vikings” did as a show though, is that it proved (along with Game of Thrones to a certain degree) that historical dramas could make. It also put History Channel on map for any non-conspiracy, non-documentary, non-oddity shows. It showed that History could tell a compelling story, and like others, I hope they build momentum of “Vikings” in the future. I’ll be sad if Chernobyl doesn’t sweep all the television awards this year.
  10. I’d be more surprised if there’s any Deaflympics in the near future given the complete state of anarchy the ICSD was in until recently. I don’t thing they’ve even choose a host for the 2021 Summer Deaflympics yet... The next Winter Deaflympics would be in 2023 (and they’ll probably happen because I believe the ICSD is under better leadership now). Also, wouldn’t recommend referring to your students as “the deafs”, just a suggestion. As a speech writer, I’d never let anyone with credibility use that. I think either deaf athletes, or just athletes would be better.
  11. Is this one of your random confessions? . It is oddly relaxing I must say.
  12. Alright everyone, 2020 is just around the corner, and you know that means...Olympics!!! @Vojthas, @Dragon, and myself a very excited to bring you more content than ever in 2020. You guys have kept us going with your continued support, and we are working all time on trying to bring you the best, newest, and most exciting content we can. As many of you know, I will be lucky enough to be in Tokyo at the 2020 Summer Olympics, and I have some very exciting announcements concerning our content goals for those games in the future. However, there is one “Olympics” to go before Tokyo, and that’s the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne. @Vojthas and I have already pledged full coverage of the event on our side. To help us, help you get the information and content you want, I’d like to know what you guys 1) want to know about the games 2) what to see from our coverage 3) what information do you most want 4) any other suggestions or comments you have. We want to use the 2020 YOG as a dry run for our Tokyo2020 coverage, so we will be all hands on deck, and fully operational for our first time since the 2019 Pan American Games. I hope y’all are looking forward to 2020 as much as we are, and we cannot wait to bring you more content. P.S. Two things: 1) I’ve read all the responses to the trivia question, and we are working on the best format for those. Hopefully in the coming weeks we’ll be able to publish some quizzes on the website. 2) I will announce the full details of our 2020 YOG coverage in the near future. We will make sure you do not miss a moment of the games.
  13. Two classic ice hockey matches for the medals tomorrow: Bronze: v. Gold: v.
  14. @Vojthas No medal for Poland
  15. You stop that right now. Let it be known, this man will be getting a mention coming his way. Time to educate the populous.
  16. I was just listening to “Uncomfortably Numb” a few minutes ago. However, I was actually had this song in my head at the time:
  17. Interesting and sad report from Human Rights Watch concerning the detention of children in armed conflicts. https://watchlist.org/wp-content/uploads/2362-watchlist-military-detention-policy_note-lr.pdf
  18. Clearly you’ve never been in a fight with one.
  19. Have you tried showing the FEI evidence?
  20. I’d prefer the dark side, but I’m willing to negotiate.
  21. Update. I’ve spent the last hour and half watching all of Sarah’s vlog series. I am now a fan. Viva Mexico. Also, highly relate to her son
  22. Well after watching the “Mexicans” in this video, I have decided to switch nationalities and compete for Mexico at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Catch me in Cross Country Skiing And just to be clear, I have nothing against these girls representing Mexico. I honestly think they’re smart for gaming the system, and they are actually Olympic caliber skiers (at least they compete regularly, and have semi-decent results). I also looked through comments and saw the Mexicans loved being represented by them, so they are Mexicans rather they speak Spanish (or live in Mexico) or not. To be fair I think the Mexican skiers at the Winter Olympics have worked as a good tourism ad for the country, so it’s a win.
  23. That’ was my reasoning for allowing myself to continue to listen it
  24. @OlympicIRL don’t know if you’re caught up, but “His Dark Materials” is looking like a really bad flop in my opinion. It’s too bad really, the casting was very good. The actors have put on the best performances they could, but this script might be the worst I’ve seen all year (GOT bad). It’s too bad since HBO really just saved themselves with “Watchmen”, but you win some you lose some.
  25. If there’s anything I’ve learned in life, it’s not to upset the Irish Catholics ?
