  1. It’s my belief that LA can host a successful edition of the Olympic Games. The NOlympics people are wrong in my opinion. I hope that our city does not let the “glory” or “prestige” of the games taint our wonderful society. The areas where the games will take place are completely safe, and fine venues. The city should worry more about traffic and venue security more than anything else.
  2. Yes because ICE isn’t already armed to the teeth . ICE should not have power over local authorities, that’s a dangerous game right there too. I’m so happy that we live in a Sanctuary county, and that my college actively helps undocumented immigrants. How is Obama responsible for the immigration crisis? You cannot use the word cleaned. I generally don’t tell people how to use language, but I would suggest you never use that again. That’s some shit that the likes of Hitler said. A lot of murder and rape is done by a lot of good ole white boys too, and they often get away with it on and regular business. Undocumented immigrants bring much more than crime to our country. Send me links. I’ve got some for you too.
  3. Sometimes I feel like this what the US State Department’s playbook is, and really makes no sense. We went to “liberate” Afghanistan and Iraq, but instead almost every civilian hates us now, and we won’t even let the Iraqi translators who were instrumental in our effort gain green cards. It would be like going freeing a kidnapped person, and then keeping them hostage in the same house!
  4. Yes because they are the reason our tax system is broken, not companies like Amazon, or tycoons like Bezos, Trump, and Koch. Except that is is! We founded the contras to fight the communists in Central American. We created a breeding ground for cartels, and have them the perfect conditions to thrive in. We proliferated Central American with guns, money, and infrastructure that the cartels, contras, and gangs now use to control and terrorize the populations of those countries we “tried” to “protect”. There are a lot of Human problems around the world, and we should a be doing at least something small to try and solve them. It is very true that we cannot not solve them, it just it. But we owe it to our shared humanity to give it a shot. The best times the world has seen has come at times of peace and openness, not at times of war. We should #AbolishICE and punish those responsible for the domestic terrorism they have caused. I’m sorry what! We’ve seen this language before: 1930 in Germany, 1990 in Rwanda, in China right now. I don’t aim to model our country after those nations. That is dangerous language you are using. People should not “be cleaned”. I’m honestly horrified that you’d even use that language. I mean that’s the language of genocide right there.
  5. I’m trying to get back into roller speed skating, but it’s been tough to find motivation as of late . Right now I’m trying to get into the habit of doing a 2.5k time trial daily, with 4-6 200m sprints on days when that’s not possible. I’d like to get my 6km time under 17:00 as my first goal. Then aim for 15:00-16:00 ultimately. I might start running again, but I’m just not finding the motivation to do anything right now (also why Totallympics Media has been a bit barren as of recent times).
  6. Except there are people who do not have 2-5 years to wait. It’s also easier for parents to immigrate since you are already a citizen. The fact that you can so shamelessly turn you back on other immigrants is just sad honestly.
  7. Nothing worse than running on beach sand. There was a big invitational that I ran in for a few years, and we had to start on beach sand. People slipping left and right, big fails right off the start. It ways always about 45 seconds of absolute mayhem. It was then followed by a nice 20 minute run down a bike path on the beach. Best race in terms of view, and times generally (assuming the beach sand start didn’t kill your race. I remember during my sophomore(?) year that kid shouted “Do it for Harambe!” at the start of race, and everyone had never been more hyped to run before. I forget what everyone responded with, but I remover laughing for a good portion of that race. Nothing like the junior varsity 5k’s . I never ran a single race on the varsity team at my high school or middle school. I ran 10 years as a “b” team runner. If that isn’t dedication, then I don’t know what is. God I miss running with my team.
  8. I’ve already made my argument against this, so I’ll suggest you look a few pages back.
  9. They don’t have time to wait in many cases, and the immigration process in the US have been set up to favor richer migrants, not those actually in need of Sanctuary
  10. I was thinking about posting that the NBA and EPL now find themselves in similar situations. Disney is also about find itself in the same situation when they release “Mulan” (the live action remake that looks good, but that I won’t be seeing).
  11. Immigrant is an immigrant. It’s as simple as that. Our borders were open for about 150 years. Those were some of the best time of growth our nation saw. Maybe it’s not a terrible idea to be a bit more open. Just to be clear, I’m not for completely open boarders (because that’s logistically impossible). We should still run background checks on people, and make sure they’re entering the nation with good intent. We shouldn’t be using the quota system as lottery system of immigrantion.
  12. Not in the US
  13. Almost those exact words yes, but there is some stuff worth reading, like the fact that an immigrant hates immigrants.
  14. Probably not. The “Boycott Isreal” movement is about punishing Israel for the mistreatment of Arabs. There’s no point to boycotting medical advancements that they’ve shared with the world to improve it. That would be punishing good action. Boycotting the small things is hurtful, but not crushing in the long run.
  15. That’s about 3 of the pages, and then there’s a heated argument about immigration.
  16. Many of us are doing the same in the US.
  17. What’s funny is that I almost tagged you when referring to the princess in my post . You’re an easy man to please. I there’s some Poles and a royal at a sports event, @Vojthas will be there . We’ll need those live skills for Lausanne coverage
  18. Well clearly he has to get that 52 mil from somewhere .
  19. Because we should be setting the example. We should be aiming high, not floating about the minimum.
  20. If Henry Sildaru doesn’t become a World Cup finalist by 2026. I will eat my socks. You may quote me on that.
  21. They might actually. They’re one of the more open countries currently.
  22. Watchmen finally proving that HBO can write a good ending on occasion. What a season, what a show for the time we live in. Asks a lot of big moral questions, and I am here for it. I’d say 10/10, and I’d totally recommend giving it a shot.
  23. What if we had already accepted “too many Ukrainians” that year? Would you have applied again? Would your life be the same? What if your life was in danger, and the was no other option be fleeing? I can’t believe an immigrant would talk this way, but yet I see immigrants say things like this all the time, and it’s just saddening quite frankly.
  24. @Monzanator The first and most basic skill your learn in communications is listening. You can’t learn anything if you don’t listen. So when people need someone to talk to I’m always there. I know the comings and goings of any organization I’m a part. I take what I learn about people, and think about it critically and often. I spend weeks coming up with real solutions to a problem. That is how the world should operate. It’s like in the Rio opening ceremony when they tell us to look for similarities, but embrace diversity. Just tonight arguing with Maxim I’ve already been correcting parts of my talking points, checking the facts of various claims, and learning how the opposition feels. Now the next time I argue/debate a Republican, I will now what their talking points will be, the counter arguments to it, and how to best combat the lies they may try to spread. You can learn a lot just from listening.
  25. I don’t know where you come from in Ukraine, but imagine if the US government had told your family that. Your life may be very, very different at this moment in time had the US not welcomed you. I’ve been around the country, and I can tell you that it is in fact not full.
