  1. Their a humorous part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They also appeared in cartoons when I was younger.
  2. It felt it was pretty urban. Open to the public, at the famous ski jump hill. Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding in the ceremony. Honestly this is one of my favorite opening ceremonies of all time. It’s unique it that it takes a largely humorous tone throughout the ceremony. It plays to local lore, and even pokes fun at it. The ceremony is almost entirely performed by youth performers. The cauldron is lit by a symbol of next generation leadership. The music and lighting is done very well for an outdoor production. Plus, we get to see many of the sports in the games actually become a part of the ceremony. It’s also not a marathon length ordeal like Rio’s 4 hour extravaganza. Overall, it’s easy to like.
  3. This is how the republicans try to win elections. They make it impossible for people to vote. Every election people all of sudden get removed from voter rolls. If the democrats passed mandatory voting, abolished the electoral college, and made everything based off the popular vote; they’d never use another election. I’m for all three of those because I’m for complete democracy, and I believe have a right to vote.
  4. As we hit the 25 days to go mark, let’s take a look back at the Lillehammer2016 Opening Ceremony! It set the standard for all future YOG Opening Ceremonies in my opinion, and I found it quite enjoyable and youthful.
  5. Nothing is easy in American politics first off, and I think once the Democratic Party chooses their candidate, we may see a more united front against Trump. I honestly think there’s a chance that he wins the presidency buts looses the popular vote by like 7 million votes, which is just ridiculous, and would truly show how broken our democracy is. If he wins, we might actually get a vote on Calexit in 2022. My ideal country would be California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington. I’d vote to leave the union today.
  6. Not always true though. Our laws concerning territories can be rather xenophobic. For instance, people born on American Samoa do not automatically receive American citizenship. We don’t even allow them to have representation in the US Government.
  7. I don’t know, I though Gamora and Star Lord playing in the attack helped out quite a bit. Plus, Drax had the goal on lockdown for the majority of the match,
  8. I’m going to have to politely disagree with every single word in this post. So glad I voted for Pelosi in my first election. I’d say the whole email investigation wasted much more time and resources, but to each their own I guess. Like the SNL skit said last night, I do fear this election will come down to 1,000 people in the middle of fucking no where Wisconsin, who won’t even think about voting until the day of . Trump will not win the popular vote, that’s clear. Unfortunately (at least from my perspective) he still has a chance in the electoral college. I just hope we can end this disgraceful period of American history. It’s so weird to live in this ultra divided nation. It wasn’t like this growing up. 2020 is going to be an interesting year.
  9. The minute you talked about trolling the NOlympics people on Twitter I knew .
  10. One of the funniest skits they’ve done this season. Honestly how Christmas will go this year for most people.
  11. So did (1 in each gender for Thailand and South Africa). Actually @Fly_like_a_don every continent is represented at the games. These games may also be on there way towards record participation in a Winter Olympics. In fact 3/4 NOCs are scheduled to make their Winter Olympic debut. I agree with your sentiments about giving every country a chance, but in some cases we’d be putting athletes in way to dangerous situations. Plus, some nations just can’t afford to find winter sports (they are very expensive). I think we should actively encourage greater participation, but we should also advocate for athlete safety and well being too.
  12. I ain’t looking to watch kids kill themselves for the sake of universality.
  13. No, he’s right. It’s a pain the ass on mobile.
  14. Sagan’s world championships were so fun to watch. The man was just always there at the right moment. This will be a sprint I reabre for the rest of my life:
  15. Coward. Good news is his reflection prospects aren’t looking great.
  16. Would love to know some more of the backstory . Happy to see gaining more and more recognition. Hopefully they make it to the Olympics one day.
  17. Unfortunately I do not think I come from royalty. Long tradition of military (that I’m going to gladly kill), but much royalty I’m afraid. I think @Monzanator had a solid theory, and the name could very well just be an odd one, or an amalgamation or similar northern names.
  18. Do you have a fettish for the Gregorian calendar or something. How is this your biggest complaint?
  19. I tried to end the argument on page 2. That was just a bit ago
  20. Knowing who gets into Cadet school, it’s not shocking that they’re racist, but it is saddening.
  21. Ah forgot about Handball, especially since they’re ass now...
  22. 16-6 = 10. That was the logic everyone went after me for earlier. The first decade was technically 0-9, with the second being 10-19, and so on. Also the first decade of the established calendar is like 40,000,000-39,000,009
  23. Iceland beating England at the Euro’s. Probably the greatest sports achievement in Iceland’s history. 2018 World Cup qualification was also a big achievement. Bjorndalen winning the sprint in 2014 to claim the biathlon medal record was pretty great too.
