  1. Robert Wickens is racing with a modified rig today! He’s on the team with Jimmy Broadbent, and it’s great to hear that Wickens’ health is good enough to do something like this.
  2. Dutch internet must be terrible I feel like Verstappen is often plagued by connection issues.
  3. Verstappen has lost the lead after crashing three times in one lap. First was just a little off, second time a car glitches into the back of him, third time he lost the backend of the car in the high speech Porsche Curves due to the damage he sustained earlier. The last hit was a hard one, and there will probably be a good amount of repair time applied during the pit stop.
  4. Literally disconnected and crashed into a wall the minute after I posted this
  5. Bykolles is doing better than they ever have at Le Mans
  6. @mrv86 Are you still hanging around here?
  7. Drivers joining in couldn’t see the other cars on track, and as you can imagine, that is a slight issue
  8. Not when you’re a tail, slender endurance athlete like myself. I get blown about like a parachute.
  9. Only downside to where I live is the 20-40mph winds that we get. Skating into a 40mph head wind is the worst! Humidity is absolutely worse then dry heat.
  10. Damn, WEC has a nice studio for this race! Complete with commentary booth, race control, and multi camera broadcast booth! This really is a high value production for a virtual race.
  11. Red flag from race control due to technical issues
  12. According to the commentators, there’s just no reset to pits in this race. Basically you have to get the car back to pit lane yourself, but that’s possible under all circumstances except connection issues. So if you’re unfamiliar with sim racing, then you might have to retire because you don’t know how to reconnect your internet or reset your sim.
  13. I know it’s more realistic for teams to be eliminated after incidents in a virtual 24hr, but it would be nice if they’d just let teams restart after a time penalty or something.
  14. Y’all should come train with me in the 100F dry heat. You don’t need a Camelback when you just become the camel Hydration is honestly of the easiest things to forget and overlook before/during a big run, so just remember to plan ahead @Agger. I hope you run a fast race
  15. It’s very watchable, which means that I’m actually trying to follow along (even though I joined 4 hours in).
  16. The the WEC have put a lot of production value into this race. They seem to have cameras on most of the drivers, and the graphics are really cool. They have also been doing a couple of interviews with LeMans legends. rFactor2 is such a beautiful game. The camera shots feel much more realistic than the other sims.
  17. He’s on a team with Jimmy Broadbent, so we can support the same team today
  18. Yep, Guyana has yet to qualify in a team sport. They have some tradition in Football and Rugby, but they aren’t really good at either. They did qualify a 7s team for the Pan Ams, but they were pretty much destroyed by everyone else in the tournament. Guyana is the third best men’s team in the Americas. They beat Brazil twice during the 2018 Americas Challenge. They have also competed at the Mixed Doubles World Championships, but they haven’t had any significant results yet.
  19. Hitting the bar with Seamus: under 5:45
  20. So that’s how it’s going to be huh? Fine, then.
  21. Coco might be one of my favorite movies honestly. I’m excited for Soul because the trailer looks really good (I’m thinking early contender for animated film at the Oscars). Disney has been really hit or miss over the past decade. PIXAR seems to be where all the talent is at the moment. Wall-E, Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Lion King, and Up are all very much childhood classics to me. I still enjoy them now, even though I watch movies in a much more critical, artistic manner. PIXAR’s golden age was the early 2000s in my opinion. They then had sort of a lull for decade or so, and then they really came on strong recently with this fresh material. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Big Hero 6 or Wreck-it-Ralph, but I did enjoy Zootopia. I would still place Coco, Up, and Finding Nemo as my favorites though.
  22. One of the Guyanese curlers was on the WCF’s Instagram today. He did a pretty series of stories that basically explained his background, how the federation was created, and the challenges the national team faces. He seems like a chill dude that the other curlers seem to get along with well. Guyana definitely has one of the best jerseys out of the all the national teams. I was a nice little watch if you’re interested (I think it will disappear in 3/4 hours). The Guyanese Curling Federation is up to 6 members (3 male/3 female). They are trying to recruit more players as well. It would be cool to see them at the Olympics one day. I think they have some quality players amongst their ranks right now, so hopefully they’re able to maintain their federation.
  23. He who must not be named
  24. @Vojthas I should make it clear that I’m not a fan of Disney movies. I watch highly rated ones (or terrible flops) on occasion, and that’s about it. I have been enjoying what PIXAR’s been putting out lately though. Especially the sub-studio responsible for Coco, Inside Out, and (soon to be released) Soul. They’ve been exploring more complex storylines, and pushing the boundaries of animation. You can skip up out on the EYOF and YOG. I’m probably the only member of our media organization who’s “youth and urban” enough to attend anyways.
