  1. Rumor has it the IOC is dialogue with Boston Dynamics about a new Olympic event for 2024...
  2. @Quasit I’ll mark myself down as willing to participate as either a contestant or member of a expert team (or both if allowed).
  3. A very well done, interesting, informative video.
  4. First US SG World Cup win since 2006
  5. I think the most fair solution would be the following: Winners of the 25 matches advance to 2nd jump Polish jumpers also jump immediately after the 25th match. If any of the Polish jumpers are in the top 5 unqualified, then they can advance to the 2nd jump.
  6. LA is getting a very rare winter thunderstorm right now. In fact, a good portion of the state is getting slammed by heavy rain/snow tonight. It’s a welcome sight since our “rainy” season has looked a lot like our dry season so far.
  7. I get a strange feeling like I’ve heard this before...
  8. It’s not been a good tournament for German speaking nations so far
  9. I forget who it was, but an organization like WHO or the UN had a “Covid 19 Fact v. Fiction” type article over the summer discussing “rumored remedies” or other questionable disease prevention practices from around the world, and honestly it was either the greatest monument the human creativity I’ve ever read, or the greatest testament to human stupidity I’ve ever read.
  10. Nigeria is having an honest go at Curling it seems https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1102403/noc-grants-federations-full-recognition

  13. Here’s a neat little subsite from Google for the kids, or those you who appreciate theoretical logistics and geography Link: https://santatracker.google.com
  14. Is anyone else getting obtrusive ads that cover the home page?
  15. Yeah, I get the feeling that this is more of a procedural issue, than an actual overturn of the verdict based on the evidence of the case. This is the system working though, since all athletes deserve a fair trial.
  16. You mean like the World Mind Games SportAccord used to hold those. The last edition in 2014. SportAccord then had all those problems, and eventually became the GAISF. The GAISF is trying to revive the World Combat Games, so maybe they’ll think about restarting the World Mind Games soon.
  17. I’ve always found that both amusing and annoying as well My guess is: Singles M/W, Doubles M/W/Mixed, Team Mixed. I seem to remember a Mixed Team event being held at a few multi-sports games. Well, the current Olympic program is 15 events + Mixed Team Skeet in Paris, so assuming all those events are held (including both Moxed Team Shotgun events), that’s 16. I do know Running Target will be on the program, and that would most likely be 6 more events. So that’s 22 “regular” events. My guess is then there will either be non-Olympic events like 50m prone, 25m center fire pistol, etc. on the program, or there will be gender specific team events for all the regular individual events. That would be my guess. I’m not against the Poomsae events personally, I find them more tolerable than Kata at least. I still haven’t made up my mind on wether or not I like form events included in multi-sports games yet. Archery having a full program for once is a small victory. Mixed Doubles would absolutely be my guess for a fifth event. It’s already held at the Commonwealth Games and Pan American Games. I’m not a big fan of doubles events in Squash/Racquetball. I heard that it will be Speed, Speed Relay, Boulder, but I don’t know if that’s final yet. Perhaps after the Paris 2024 announcement they’ll go with Speed, Speed Relay, Boulder/Lead Combined. I’d be okay with that, but I’d prefer the 6 individual disciplines myself. I think Speed Relay is fun event, but it’s not my favorite. I’d rather have a Lead event personally. That would (hopefully) be the full regular program of track events. 200m (or) 300m Time Trial, 500m Sprint, 1000m Sprint, 10000m (or) 15000m Points Race (or) Points/Elimination Race, 15000m (or) 20000m Elimination Race. I’d be very happy about that.
  18. Welcome to forum @Dawid Brilowski and @ziomkris1!
  19. There’s finally a nice official website: http://oran2022.com They have the events program listed here, and let’s just say it’s an “interesting” collection of events once more. I’ve listed some “highlights” below: Athletics - No 10000m, High Jump is men’s only, Hammer Throw is women’s only, Shot Put is men’s only, Triple Jump is men’s only Basketball - is 3x3 only once again, no 5x5 events Boxing - 9 weight classes, men’s only Fencing - will have a full program of 6 individual events once more, unlike that weirdness in Tarragona Football - U23, men’s only Gymnastics - Artistic only, Rhythmic has been dropped Weightlifting - only 4 events! 2 weight class each for men/women Wrestling - looks like they haven’t finalized the program, or there’s a glitch on the page... Equestrian - Jumping only once again Table Tennis - Doubles events, instead of Team events Shooting - 10m events + trap(?) Sailing - 4 events only, RS:X + Laser events Volleyball - Beach Volleyball has been dropped There will be 0 Mixed events on the program. There will be no para-sport events on the program. Canoe, Golf, Rowing, Triathlon, Water Skiing have all been dropped as well.
  20. Yeah, losing to the Jets will be the low point of LA sports this year, in what has otherwise been one of the greatest years for LA teams.
