  1. I know that. I’m just flustered right now. There’s just so much going on in my country and personal life at the moment, and it’s wearing me down. I know I don’t need to defend my reporting, but I’m just tired and mentally drained.
  2. Again, fair. I shouldn’t feel the need to justify myself as a reporter. I took an hour to write that post because I kept correcting it, and I’m still unhappy I posted it. I would obviously hope my writing speaks for itself, but I felt the need to say that. I don’t care if people want to debate my political views, argue my opinions on international sport, etc. I do care when people question my ability or ethics as a reporter. I don’t think that was your intention, but I choose to respond anyway. You’ve read my reporting you can be the judge I guess.
  3. Yeah, fair enough. I have very little respect for MSNBC, CNN, Palmer Report, Daily Kos, etc. My job as a journalist is keep people informed. I do that through facts and research. I don’t attempt to disagree with, or spin the facts. I maintain a very high standard of ethics and integrity for any project I’m a part of. It’s not my opinion that those organizations share those same values. Their politics may align with mine in some areas, but their job is to inform people. Telling people what they want to hear isn’t journalism.
  4. I wish I could give this like a hundred of this little green upvotes.
  5. I’m honestly surprised you don’t work for FOX, Breitbart, or InfoWars sometimes.
  6. And humans have done 99% percent more of the work to make then a threatened/endangered species
  7. Clearly someone isn’t familiar with “Honeyland.” That women eemed like she was just rolling in the dough.
  8. Yay, Toms! Another rider who broke through at the Tour of California.
  9. As this is a special case, the FIL/IWGA came to a special agreement. The Gods of the Haudenosanee (Iroquois) people gifted the sport of Lacrosse to them. In turn, the Haudenosanee gifted the game to the rest of the world. The Haudenosanee are the spiritual keepers of the sport, much the same way as Scotland is with Curling, Japan with Judo, and Korea with Taekwondo. Recapping the posts from above: The Haudenosanee were originally not invited to the World Games, since they do not have an NOC. Their players then created a petition asking the other nations to boycott the Games, which received wide support in the Lacrosse community. The IWGA/FIL then decided that the Haudenosanee could compete if they had met the qualification requirements (which they easily had), as this was a special case. Ireland the decided (voluntarily) to reject their place at the Games, so the Haudenosanee could compete.
  10. Ireland has voluntarily rejected it’s quota place in men’s lacrosse, so that the Haudenosanee Nation may compete. Article: https://worldlacrosse.sport/article/ireland-lacrosse-voluntarily-withdraws-from-twg-2022/ Fantastic act of sportsmanship. You should be proud of your boys @OlympicIRL. I sincerely hope that FIL/IWGA/BIR2022 come up with a way to let both teams compete.
  11. Also, I saw what happened to Sagan when watching the extended highlights provided by NBC, and it’s not really his fault he lost the stage today. There was a lead out rider that pull to the side well, and then he and a couple other guys got caught out by a dip in the road (which I think knocked his chain off).
  12. To be fair, I find all the jersey competitions exciting/worthwhile in their own right. The only thing I can’t stand are these ridiculous “Bonus” things.
  13. It seems pretty fair. If sprinters can’t be bothered to drag their asses over hills at more than a semi-pedestrian place, then that’s on them.
  14. Absolutely. I disagree a little on who it’s “meant for” or meant to incentivize, but it is absolutely the road twin of the track cycling points race. I actually going to post about how Sagan reminds me of Cameron Meyer a little bit.
  15. I don’t see anything wrong with the green jersey classification by the way. I get that it’s supposed to be a reward for the sprinters, but if people can win it based on strategy, then that’s good riding.
  16. There was a period, around when Sagan had his three-peat at the Worlds, where he actually was a very solid sprinter and a solid tactician. In his early career he had the speed, but the lacked the tactics to win more sprints. Now, it seems like both tactics and speed are starting to leave him, or at least he’s having a poor year in the saddle. Like some others said, it’s a long tour and he may improve, but I have yet to be impressed by his performance. I’d say he has only his team to thank for that green jersey right now.
  17. That might be the most prudent solution. Season could be 8 world cups, 2 at each German track, and then the world championships in Innsbruck, or maybe even St. Mortiz (I knew the FIL doesn’t race there, which is why it would be cool). You could even do the 8 World cups in Germany, and then fly over to Pyeongchang for the World Championships, and then hit China for the test event (assuming the track is ready by February/March).
  18. I’ll just be thrilled if there’s 20 or more races this season.
  19. Sagan has been really disappointing this year. He’s clearly not in good form. I hope he’s able to comeback at some point. Easily one of the most entertaining cyclists of this century.
  20. Nice stage from Lutsenko. That win wasn’t as exciting as his victory at the 2018 Asian Games, but it was still a fantastic ride nonetheless. Powless managed to give me more hope about the future of American cycling. Actually, I’m very pleased with our “young” cyclists right now. Kuss and Powless have shown a fair amount of ability and strength lately. I’m excited to see how they’ll perform for the rest of the tour. I once thought Craddock would be the future of American cycling, and possibly a GC contender, but he never really planned out. However, between these three, I have some high hopes for American cycling in the coming years. They probably aren’t guys that will win tour after tour, but they are riders that could be competitive at events like the World Championships and Olympic Games, and honestly I’ll take that.
  21. If I’m not mistaken, our very own @Vojthas will be acting as the commentator for the Polish National Championships due to get underway in a few minutes.
  22. The Executive Board of the International Luge Federation, with the support of the Canadian Luge Association, has decided to cancel the 2021 World Championships scheduled for the Whistler Sliding Centre February 5-7. The FIL Executive Board will decide on an alternative venue in the coming weeks.
