  1. I’ve gone ahead and set up league for Totallympics users. You can use the following code to join: LXKPDLTA @Dunadan @Henry_Leon @SteveParker @Pablita @Gianlu33 @Wumo @Agger @Siddhartha Talukdar @Griff88 @Vojthas I tagged those @maestro had tagged, who played last summer during Tokyo 2020. Of course, anyone is welcome to play along. A note for any new players…Olympics.com is offering a Fantasy/Prediction contest in their Fanzone. You’ll need to create an “Olympic ID” to play (this is your olympics.com account for use at the Olympic Channel and in interactive zones such as this, it is completely free). I recommend using your Totallympics username as your Olympic ID username (if possible), so that we can identify you more easily. Here’s a link to the fanzone home page: https://olympics.com/en/fanzone/ A reminder for all players…Remember to read the rules, they have made some notable changes since Tokyo 2020. Here’s a link to the Fantasy page for anyone who needs it as well: https://olympics.com/en/fanzone/olympic-fantasy/

  9. @Topicmaster1010 where did you see the announcement that Israel qualified in bobsleigh? I can’t find anything about it.
  10. @Topicmaster1010 NOC confirmed a delegation of 19 earlier today. They didn’t list a female alpine skier, so I don’t know what’s going on with that. Link: https://teambelgium.be/fr/nouvelle/la-selection-du-team-belgium-pour-beijing-2022-compte-19-athletes
  11. Being as 85 countries qualified for Beijing 2022, with 83 of those accepting quotas; I’d say it’s in the realm of possibility
  12. Here’s the system I’d recommend for the next qualification cycle. The FIS should create 2 Special Olympic Rankings per gender, one for speed events and one for tech events. The rankings consist of a combination of World Cup points earned in both events contained within the speed or tech program. Criteria A - up to 60 quotas per gender: Top 30 from each ranking earns their country one quota place at the Olympics. There would be a limit of 4 quotas per ranking per country (so 8 per country via this criteria). Athletes cannot gain a quota from both rankings, and athletes placed outside the top 30 on either list cannot be allocated a quota via this criteria. Criteria B - up to 80 quotas per gender: This would be the basic quota allocation, with the current rules in place. Countries who earned quota in criteria A would be ineligible to earn a quota through this method. If more than 80 countries have an athlete who meets the eligibility required, athletes will be ranked and chosen based on lower FIS Points. Criteria C - number quota dependent on above criteria: The lowest ranked athlete in any individual event (according to either World Cup points, or FIS points) earns their country one quota, until there are no more quotas remaining. Any remaining unused quota from criteria A or B would be allocated using this method. This would also be the reallocation method. Countries could qualify a max of 4 quotas per gender under this method. Maximum delegation size would be 12 per gender per country, for a total of 24. This system balances making sure the best athletes qualify, while also maximizing universality to the best possible degree.
  13. Users might remember her as a performer from the modern Brazil/cityscape/pop culture segment of the Rio 2016 opening ceremony.
  14. From my understanding, Harris Thomas doesn’t have a passport, so Andre Marcano will serve as brakeman at the Olympics. Two-time olympian Mikel Thomas has been nominated as backup. Here is Marcano’s World Athletics profile: https://www.worldathletics.org/athletes/trinidad-and-tobago/andre-marcano-14244879
  15. From what I heard, quotas haven’t been finalized by the IBSF yet either. I think they’re still in a similar or process of confirmation/reallocation.
