  3. Italy 2 is just 19th in the 10m Rifle Mixed team, but in perfect agreement with the Olympic value of gender equality, it was the only team up to now whose points are perfectly divided between the boy and the girl
  4. Considering what happened to Asian Games for both men's and women's tournaments, I think FIH should absolutely make CEO the one who foreseen Japan winning both tournaments at Asian Games
  5. The official website is reborn the bad news is that I couldn't find any live results, but it looks like that the ISSF website will give live updates
  6. @Olympian1010 Only of the finals on the ISSF website. I hope to find a place for live results since I cannot reach the official website
  7. Competition should start in half an hour but the website is down...
  8. I think that Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand may be serious contender in 10/20 years, especially the first two.
  9. Honestly I didn't remember this, but Israel, Denmark, Northern Ireland and Netherlands are surely border country with Italy... to be honest, it is not that I'm against the "brand development" of the Giro, but the southern part of Italy, where I live, is usually out of the way, in some years the Giro doesn't reach southern than Rome
  10. The fact that Tour de France is really held in France is the only thing that as Italian I envy to the Tour...
  11. The level of competition is a problem IOC should face in the mid-future... after all, the number of athletes (and their host structures) is not the main problem of the Olympic games
  12. With this situation, he may not have that much problem in qualifying for Tokyo
  13. Tra un po' cominciano i mondiali di tiro. Secondo voi quante quote riusciamo a prendere? Io credo che almeno 4 nel tiro a volo, variamente distribuite, dovrebbero esserci, ma nel tiro a segno sinceramente non ne ho idea, specialmente senza Campriani.
  14. Yes I agree, it would have been nice to have team kata together with individual
  15. http://setopen.sportdata.org/wkfranking/standing_tokyo2020.php At this link you can find the olympic qualification ranking for karate
  16. @bestmenNo, kata is only individual. No team event are scheduled for karate
  17. I was always wondering this, so maybe some of you can answer the question: why is SouthAfrica refusing quotas? And why is it taking part to further preolympic event once they refused quota?
  18. Yeah, that is what I meant, sorry if it wasn’t clear
  19. However the official website says that Malaysia won two medals in laser, so they earned both quotas
  20. Tipically the best absolute result in any race is the tiebreaker
  21. Sadly IAAF has decided to don’t make world relay as an Olympic qualifying event... so I don’t think such of these strange relays will have a future
  22. IAAF once proposed a kind of progressive relay in their world relays. It was kind of 100 + 400 + 800 + 1500, I wonder why they renounced in developing it.
  23. This discussion is becoming quite nice to answer @Quasit's provocation, there are many other sports that should be included in which Italy could win many medals, like roller sports, other track cycling events, natural luge, speed skiing. Plus, I think that IOC should first of all consolidate and increase the agonistic level of the Olympics, (and this passes through increasing the number of athletes, according to me). OBVIOUSLY, (sorry, I get bored finding font modification ), if e-sport is included, I will cheer for Italy and won't get disappointed if it wins. And, as @Gianlu33 said, it isn't that impossible. Regarding if motorsport is/isn't a sport, I think that is very physical: you have to be well trained to stand the g-force in the curves, so it also has a very physical aspect, and that's why it wouldn't total disappoint me. Plus, it would be curious to see karts and minibikes fighting for gold medals, maybe it could work. A very interesting discussion regards the equipment. Let's assume for a second that motorsport enters the olympics. In that case I would agree with those saying that equipment should be standardized, because very small parts of the karts/bikes (At least in my knowledge) can be customizable for riders' confort. Quite different is the situation for other sports, in which the physical effort is still the key point, like in track cycling: there, almost all parts are customizable for every rider in order to optimize the efforts of the athletes. Probably, the truth stands in the middle: some rules for the equipment should be given in order to minimize differences given by the equipment. On the other hand, it would be very unfair for some nations to totally avoid technical development, so the solution would be that IOC should start giving out more sport fellowship to less developed nations and, most of all, create its own "training facilities" for these athletes so they can train with best equipment, maybe become expert in engineering (because, after all, fellowship is given also for studying) or stuff like that and then increase their own nation level.
  24. I'm not against chess or go or bridge, I'd honestly prefer them to the esports, although I agree with the idea expressed by other people here on the forum that IOC should consider creating a "multisport" competition for them There isn't any particular reason for not considering them a sport, it's just a feeling I have about them. The fact that one wants to establish who's the best in something doesn't automatically make it a sport. Otherwise, I have an idea for a chemistry olympic event
