  1. Absolutely, since we're gonna get to see you eat your shoe then.
  2. Less than 20 minutes ago. A whole lot of people have been woken up rather roughly.
  3. I do have faith in the people behind the actual data and stories though, so I'm not gonna give up hope yet
  4. There's a cycling calendar as well from 1 August on, but of course that's not as definitive as UCI tries to make us believe. Cycling does however restart on Tuesday, with the HTV Cup in, yeah, Vietnam And it's not just something, it's an 18-stage race, basically a Grand Tour with mostly Vietnamese riders
  5. It's a whole buch of smart people behind it, I'm pretty sure everything is not actually lost
  6. NASCAR is back this weekend, starting on Sunday Four races in less than two weeks, awesome. IndyCar is back on 6 June at the Texas Motor Speedway.
  7. I thought all of that was supposed to be copied one-on-one to the IOC's website..? Can't find it there though, and definitely not in a format that's as perfect as sports-reference
  8. Isolation eRacing Series Australian Supercars rounds 18-20 of the virtual championship MMA, Bellator 193 of January 2018 In between actual useful stuff, of course
  9. Every new IOC president seems to take the totalitarian role one step further, Bach took two steps
  10. Yeah, apparently things don't always stay the same forever, who knew
  11. Yeah, you really can't compare countries like Slovakia and Latvia with the USA or something. That being said, I am definitely happy those countries that have good conditions to get it under control actually managed to use those conditions to actually keep it sort of under control. I'm sure leaders reacting like Trump or Bolsonaro would have managed to screw up even those countries
  12. Sort of hard to compare junior and senior, seeing as rally and track is rather different.. I'm more than willing to give Sainz the benefit of the doubt. You're not ending up 6th in the world championship without some form of decent talent if you're not in a Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull. Plus, beating out Norris quite comfortably is simply really good, there is not much doubt among experts about Norris being a top level driver. Of course it is always hard to judge who is good and who's less good when there's big differences between cars. Is Bottas really good? Or is he just where he is because his car happens to be good? I really don't think the current six drivers that make up the top-3 teams are the six best drivers on the current grid.
  13. McLaren 2021: Ricciardo + Norris Renault 2021: Ocon + ... Ferrari 2021: Leclerc + ... The Ferrari seat will most likely be Sainz, curious to see if Renault will again pay 25+ million dollars for a driver and if Vettel even wants to move there. Apart from him, Lundgaard and Zhou are serious contenders as well, especially if Renault waits a little to see how the current season goes for them.
  14. Yes that has been going around for a while, but rumours are Qatar has taken the top position for that spot. I really hope it'll be Oman, even though with Dylan Groenewegen the Netherlands would have one of the major candidates for gold on a flat course like Qatar - an awesome race is of course a lot more important than having a winner with the same flag.
  15. Too bad she never got close to her best results anymore after her injury period, it already is one hell of an achievement she somehow managed to pull an Olympic silver medal out of the hat after that.
  16. It seems more and more likely UCI will move the world championships out of Switzerland, and there seems to be a major candidate.
  17. Couldn't have been anything else When thinking about Swiss winter sports fans, cowbells are the absolute number one thing that comes to mind. A group of 'em was behind me at the world ski flying championships in Vikersund...those things are freaking loud
  18. Different systems for different events maybe I mean, 2.30m is always gonna be 2.30m. Sure, there's some influence from the competition itself, but nothing compared to for example a 5km, where the field has a huge influence on the tactics and so the possible time. Winning in 13:10 can in fact be more impressive than second in 12:50.
  19. The thing is it makes it be more about having a good enough manager to get you in big meets, instead of simply being good. Not sure about the exact numbers, but for example a high jumper could get more for a 2.24m in a big meet than a 2.31m in a small meet, that's just weird.
