  1. Avancini losing out on a medal a bit silly, but then being outsprinted by not one, but two other Brazilians Not his year so far, after already losing out recently in the Copa Internacional supposedly because of hitting a rock, but in reality (as one could clearly see) because he made a mistake with his suspensions and then the frame of his new bike (the Brazilian brand Caloi he switched to) broke. But obviously he couldn't say that in his comments, because showing how fragile the frame was would not exactly be great advertisement for the (in Brazil) big Caloi Curious how long he will stay with the brand and how well he'll do when the season kicks up for real in the World Cup.
  2. And probably Cortina will be cancelled as well, LA 2028 is also as good as doomed!
  3. The World Cup started last weekend with bouldering in Japan, but I forgot where to watch the full replays now that it's not on YouTube anymore. Anyone? I vaguely remember maybe the Olympic Channel, but that website is such a bitch to navigate especially when trying to avoid spoilers, and I'm far from sure it's on there... (I hope not, since their player is bad and doesn't even have hotkey functionality if I'm not mistaken) Edit: found it, and I had forgotten, it's on Discovery/Eurosport's digital channels
  4. Nice 6th place for Nicolas Sessler Rather disappointing results for Vinicius Rangel (13th) and Alvaro Hodeg (20th) though. Of course Hodeg only just returned after an awful injury, but judging by his shape on Sicily (somewhat decent) I had thought he'd do better. If he were in regular shape, of course he'd probably have been riding circles around everyone in this field, but then again, if he was in that shape he would probably not have been doing this event while the main season is in full swing
  5. Nah, Pogacar will be back in time At least let's hope so from a perspective of wanting to see a battle
  6. There is a nations ranking? Damn, I've been an avid follower of cycling since I could walk, but didn't know this
  7. And that's LBL decided with 30k to go
  8. This boxing situation might actually escalate into the entire Paris Olympics being cancelled. In fact, that is extremely likely!
  9. Lol, AS Roma getting a penalty because their opponent didn't sew his arm against his body (because that would be the only way to hold it closer to one's body). Luckily Pellegrini misses, so some justice there
  10. What the hell....
  11. Happy Easter and enjoy the tasty things and free day if you have it
  12. Anyhow, very much deserved win for VdP, basically the only rider to constantly attack from early on (although Van Aert had two good moments as well). Always +1 for attacking riders taking the win
  13. Yeah, Philipsen might take care to not celebrate his 2nd place too hard yet
  14. Philipsen bringing down Degenkolb, Van Aert reacts by attacking, Van der Poel follows and sees Van Aert getting a flat tyre. That was some super intense Carrefour as always, but it's most likely done now.
  15. Van der Poel opening up the final push after Orchies!
  16. Jasna + no Zagreb (nothing against Zagreb, but the snow issues there....) + no more parallel.....FIS is getting some good ideas suddenly Well, you know, except for the finals. I think they've already typed the "Saalbach is cancelled" news item so they can save some time in March 2024
  17. 20km of potentially a bit calmer racing, chance to quickly get something to drink and a snack maybe without missing something Then we go into the final push starting with Orchies and Mons-en-Pévèle
  18. Right, the total chaos of the Forest is done, time to make up the damages and get a bit of breath 90km to go and it feels like it's already been the final 20km for a while. Pedersen with a move to the front group, where they refused the chance to torture Pedersen a bit...not smart.
  19. And Laporte with a flat tyre at the end. Almost made it.
  20. And there you go, the exact reason why Van Aert, Van der Poel, Küng wanted to be gone from the peloton Van Baarle, last year's winner, is down in the Forest.
  21. Van Aert and Laporte stepping on the gas, holy smokes. Degenkolb, Van der Poel and Küng (?) basically crying in their wheel begging for air Didn't expect this before the Forest! Oh and 19-year old Madis Mihkels manages to hang on
  22. US conservatives being US conservatives. Luckily their leader down in Arkansas, you know, the governor, has her priorities in order.
  23. Yeah, social media is a thing that has plenty of good stuff to offer, but you do need to be picky in choosing what to follow and what not For major and quick-moving news events, for example, it's often the number one way of gaining information rapidly instead of waiting for the news on TV three hours later.
  24. Oh well, maybe Jake Paul is a massive fan of the Adelskalendern and will finally convince her to do a 5k for the sake of that!
