  1. Oh, he's through to the final after all. I forgot in this event you have to wait for a while after the finish until you can really know what the result of the race is. Anyhow, the plan ("putting someone like Kramer in this event can scare the competition") doesn't seem to be that fantastic. Surprising
  2. Right, the main speed skating is over, time for the circus We start with the men's Not-A-Marathon. Which could be Sven Kramer's last race. I hope not, it'd be cool to see him and Bergsma in the final and see how they solve the thing of having to kind of pretend to work together
  3. Just to help confirming this: in the two important 1000m's they had before the Olympics, their last laps were roughly 0.1 second apart from each other. Verbij's last lap was a tiny bit faster once, Krol's last lap a tiny bit faster the other time. So yeah, without this situation it would most likely have been very tight indeed.
  4. Yes, but why not show the speeds and the angles and such on other parts of the track? I mean, we know how the Kreisel goes now after two weeks, and this graphic is cool....but show the whole track every now and then.
  5. What's with those track/angle graphics in all three sliding sports being shown basically all the time, but basically only around this specific point of the track? They've shown that literally dozens and dozens of times (if not a couple of hundred, considering the amount of runs in luge, skeleton and bobsleigh combined), but all the time it's just the part around the Kreisel
  6. It does when it's already that cold. Keep them going for 2 hours and it's just asking for people to drop down out of the blue.
  7. It's easy to be angry about it, but if it's -15 with the winds we've seen in the area today, this is really not a bad decision. An unfortunate one and I'm sad it had to be taken, but sadly a necessary one.
  8. If it'd go to a 15k mass start, she's one of the main favourites Even with a 30k mass start she has more than an outside shot already.
  9. Men's 50k has been moved up an hour to 08:00 CET/15:00 LOC. It has also been shortened....it's now a 30k
  10. Has any summer Olympic event been altogether canceled 'recently'?
  11. Huh, "Competition delayed due to weather - Competition will not start before 04.00 CET" Yeah ok, but 04.00 was already the scheduled time so...so what
  12. Oh absolutely, a 7th place for an Estonian in a regular distance, that is seriously a fantastic result!
  13. Sure, it's the rule, but he could have tried in some sort of desperate attempt. Wouldn't be unique or anything, and it would definitely have messed Dubreuil's race up.
  14. Verbij after his race: "I had to stop instead of attempt that risky exchange, otherwise I'd also ruin his race. I'm not an asshole."
  15. Finnish time I guess But yeah, that was good to see, meant 2-3 hours more sleep than in most of the Olympic nights
  16. The men's ski cross does seem to be highly competitive (unsurprising, of course), so that's looking good. Nobody is far behind at all, except for Bachsleitner, who one may assume simply had a big mistake or something (I didn't watch the seeding run).
  17. Also congratulations on Russia, almost successfully sweeping a doping case under the rug, again, but still getting the win.
  18. Ah, the 'but Western media' thing. Straight from figureskatingforum.com.ru
