Out of curiousity: how is World War 2 remembered in your countries? This question of course only goes for people from countries where it actually is 'a thing' to remember it Here in the Netherlands 4 May is the national 'death remembrance day', where at 20:00 there are two minutes of silence and it's quiet everywhere on the streets and even the trains stop driving for two minutes. Then on 5 May it's 'liberation day', celebrating the liberation from the German occupation. On a Dutch forum I read someone saying "is all this necessary? I'm sure they don't remember all this so much as we do here, with the entire week being full of WW2 movies, survivors and veterans talking about that time etc". So now I'm curious
