  1. I'm surprised they didn't add the 50 meters in swimming by the way, surely FINA will be mad for this big loss, now swimming is way too small at the Olympics!
  2. How is that disappointing? It's no problem to have women-only and men-only sports.
  3. I meant as a decent distance swimmer 200, 400, 800, 1500 and I forgot the relays.
  4. You mean 'aren't'? I have absolutely nothing against the same number of men and women of course, but why not give certain women's events time to become 'a thing' first? And the mixed stuff is even worse, who on earth cares about the 4x400m mixed relay And come on, be a decent freestyle swimmer and you can win 4 Olymic golds without ever going less than 200 meters. It's just so stupid.
  5. Almost all. Literally taking away dozens of quota from certain sports, the forced, politically correct addition of mixed events everywhere (even a 4x400m in athletics, come on, that whole event is not even a 'thing' in professional athletes), three (!) more events on the overloaded swimming programme instead of cutting some events to make place for others. Those are the worst parts in my opiniion.
  6. This is so incredly disappointing. Honestly, I'm so mad
  7. Wait, Fuglsang won Froome screwing up Porte's win by nearly pushing him in the barriers.
  8. Oh come on, that is terribly unlucky..
  9. Anyway getting new users on Totallympics should maybe be a bit of a priority, because every forum thrives on the users it has. However, going around and stalking people with "come post on Totallympics" messages is probably going to annoy a whole lot more people than it'll bring here, which is why I'm trying to think of different suggestions.
  10. Since there's not a whole lot of discussion about it in the General Chat (none, to be precise), I'll just throw down my suggestion right here about more topics instead of forcefully having to post each and every bit of news, even major news, in one central thread. ------------ By the way, about new users: it doesnt exactly help that all tennis news goes in one tennis thread, all biathlon news goes in one biathlon thread, all road cycling news goes in one road cycling thread and so on. It'd be a lot more helpful if certain 'news events' would have their own thread, especially if it's sort of unique news. Like, if there's big news about speed skating but only in Dutch yet, I could translate it and open a thread for it, then link to it in English on social media. Or big news about sport X that's only in media in a country with non-English language Y yet, someone who speaks language Y could translate it (or at least the highlights/main points) and have a thread about it which can be linked and shared in English on social media. If everything is in all these central threads and any change in that is absolutely impossible 'because it is impossible', there's no reason at all to link to Totallympics on social media. I post pretty much sports news on social media but I only link to Totallympics maybe once or twice a year to give someone an example of something. Example: http://totallympics.com/index.php?/forum/23-beach-volleyball/ A beach volleyball subforum, which a beach volleyball fan could see and think "Awesome! Let's see all the fun that's in there!", only to discover that there's literally just four threads in it, with literally just one that could still logically be active. One! An entire subforum for one single thread! Like is the case with most sports. Why not have a subforum for beach volleyball and open a bunch of threads there when there is news, for a tournament, etc? It just doesn't make sense. --------------
  11. After missing 3 tests. The 3rd one of which coming when he went to have dinner at his mom's house and got home too late to be back in time at the 1 hour period he had said he'd be home, moron
  12. [hide] Women's Singles Final Central European Summer Time (GMT +2) Date and Venue Athlete 1 T1 T2 Athlete 2 June 10th 2017, h. 15:00, Court Philippe-Chatrier, Paris Jelena Ostapenko 2 1 Simona Halep [3] [/hide]
  13. Not another relay/team event please Definitely agree about the XC eliminator though, short and full of action + the first one at the finish wins, not the dude with the jeans the lowest on his ankle and the most points.
  14. Yeah, sadly that includes women's madison. They should have given that some time to develop and add it in 2024, because it was an absolute joke at the world championships. It's all nice and super duper hip to have an exactly equal number of male/female events, but at least add events with a decent enough level. Surely another women's event would have a more interesting field?
  15. Two years and 1 day after he set his 20.92 PB, which was also his last 200 meter race until today, very impressive
  16. Really curious what Konstanze Klosterhalfen can do on this 1500m in Rome, she's definitely in fantastic shape.
  17. Nope, I just saw this posted somewhere
  18. Fantastic reason to just ignore the whole thing.
  19. But that's one, this is the average over the entire tournament
  20. She's as mentally stable as most random WTA players...I'd be surprised if she hangs out in the top longer than a year or two before doing what every woman in tennis except for Serena does: rise to the top, fall far far back, get a good result again, be kicked out in a 1st round etc.
  21. That is bloody impressive
  22. Firstly I don't really know why there is the need for a minute silence for a match in Australia (I get it for Western Europe, but not really for the rest of the world, it's not like they have a minute of silence for every terrorist attack in the Middle East). Secondly, you must be a major asshat if you're doing this in a minute of silence. It's sad to see their (Dutch) coach Bert van Marwijk apparently couldn't get it in their heads to shut up and stand there for one minute.
