So? For most of these athletes it's going to be a once in a lifetime experience, even for those in their 2nd, 3rd OG it's going to be unique riding a boat through Paris. How is this worse than standing in the stadium for 3 hours.. Unless you have starts on Saturday morning/day, there is no reason not to attend the opening ceremony. The question is how many boats will they use for the French, US, China etc. delegations?
