  1. Cool start to the Worlds with a nice Italia win. Vinatzer manages for once to stay on the track and look what happens
  2. I like Diggins as much as the next guy, but I'm pissed Johaug just threw away the WC. Was very much looking forward to their fight for the Globe... I understand if she wanted a take a slightly longer break after TdS and miss a round or two, but 3 in-a-row? It would be over a month from competing when she returns in Fallun.
  3. I still can't believe there are people who are going to vote for Watanabe.
  4. They could always just change to FISS
  5. Well, for all betting people, after the recent announcements, i think now it's a nice time to put money on Norge NOT winning the medal table
  6. Valid question indeed Given, that nothing has been talked so far about hosting etc., I think we can aim for a mid-February start for a late April final.
  7. Something really suspicious is happening in Norway If this was all after Cortina, then no one would bat an eye, as it is expected for big names to retire after the Olympics. But doing it a year prior and not some random names, it's 3 of their biggest stars is very strange. Guess Norwegian minds and life choices are still baffling to people from this (my ) part of Europe.
  8. Short GS in Schladming, but it makes for minimal differences and lots of chances for a win
  9. So well deserved first World Cup victory for Yoana Ilieva First ever for a Bulgarian woman and first in fencing in 40 years. She is doing a very good season so far and already to number 5 in the rankings. 2025 starts fun for us, an alpine skiing WC win in 40 years and now a fencing WC win in 40 years
  10. Winter Universiades don't have high level of competitors, but it's still very nice to see us getting 3 medals. Especially for a small delegation like ours.
  11. Not sure why this Kronplatz GS is always in the middle of the day on a workday.. I've said it many times how much I enjoy the night events, but if they don't have the money for lights, just have it on an empty weekend, or on a holiday around Christmas/ New Years. It's stupid to have it on a random Tuesday at noon..
  12. Ahhh, wished Zamfirov got a podium. But he is a name for the future, so every knockout result is great for him.
  13. I'm always amazed how completely mental some of the biggest athletes become. Some grind and struggle 4-5 additional years just to compete at one more OG, while others just drop everything a few months before the Olympics, while still even on top.
  14. Yankov and Zamfirov won their 1/8 and we will have an All-Bulgarian 1/4
  15. Doesn't seem like we will get a surprise late bib winner this time.
  16. Cortina & Wengen doubleheader Always one of the best alpine weekends of the season. If only i was looking at snow through my window and not sunshine... to get me in an even better mood.
  17. Snowboard WC back in Bansko this weekend Time for another big result for Rado Yankov.
  18. David Lynch has died One of the most unique minds in the history of cinema & TV. Sad day.
  19. Also, does anyone know why the weekday Oberhof and Ruhpolding starts are during the day? As far back as remember the German rounds always had the weekday starts in the late afternoon / evening, when people were off work and for a better TV audience. Has interest in Germany fallen for biathlon, because it's very weird seeing races begin at 3 pm on a Wednesday, Thursday etc..
  20. Sweden winning a relay with 2 loops is next level stuff. Had 1 more loop than and still beat them by over a minute. Elvira was on fire today, just crushed Lou on the final lap. If she can get the shooting in order, a late push for the Overall WC is in the card, especially since Preuss didn't look at all good after the New Years break.
  21. WOW what back to back days for us Todorova has been doing very well this season, but i would be lying if i was expecting her to get a podium. Like mentioned, our first women's podium since Ekaterina Dafovska was fighting for the overall WC in 2003. A win in snowboard, a win in alpine, a podium in biathlon, guess it's time for Zografski to get a podium in ski-jumping
  22. I would love to, but i don't have the sports tier on Max Plus i'm not even sure it has the Bulgarian commentary. It was emotional, but not anything spectacular, i've heard much better.
  23. Х А Й Д Е Finally all the hard work for Albert pays off and he has his first WC victory at age 27 And he won in one of the most legendary slaloms in Madonna. Also maybe a symbolic moment, because until now, the only WC victory for Bulgaria was Petar Popangelov's 1980 slalom win on .... January 8th. And we are January 8th , 45 years later.
  24. Few observations from the Globes. Nikki Glaser had a nice opening monologue, but everything afterwards was bad. Plus i don't know what the make-up people did to her face, but i thought i was watching a wax figure.. But she changed 10 dresses showing us more of her cleavage, so that was a plus i guess. This was probably not only the worst Globes, but probably one of the worst major award ceremonies in structure and writing... Everything was so awful... - None of the presenter skits worked and many were just cringe; - The weird camera angles, that widened around the presenters completely showed the audience not giving any fucks about what they were saying and some hiding their facepalms even. I was specifically watching in the background, since in these award shows we only get the camera in the presenters face against the screen, so this was new, but i was astonished how little the people were paying attention. - Not showing barely any clips, or even images from the movies / series (sadly this has become a modern tradition to "save time") - The idiotic showing of the nominees. Not only without images from their performances, but them in a small picture on the side, while the screen was a damn Google Map with an arrow on their placement. Like WHO CARES where they sit in the room, show the person on the full screen... Morons. About the winners: - Like pretty much all winners on the movie side, with the exception of Emilia Perez, which i don't like at all and don't think it deserves awards.. - Especially happy for The Brutalist and Fernanda Torres; - Anora was being hyped so much. Watched it, absolutely hated the first half, picked up greatly in the second, but in the end an above average film 7/10 for me. Not getting anything yesterday was a bit surprising if you'd followed the race, but not saying i'm sorry for it. Madison did a great performance, but her stocks are falling for an Oscars win and she will probably settle for only the Nom. - Ariana Grande does a nice job in fooling people, that she is a good singer (which she is not) and now that she is a good actress (which she is not). Someone is getting screwed if she gets an Oscars Nom.. - Pissed that they didn't have the DeMille and Burnett awards on the main show, because of "time", but we now have the nonsense Box Office and Stand-Up comedy awards.. Everyone would have preferred a tribute to Davis and Ted Danson with a recap of their careers, rather than 30 minutes of useless stuff. On the TV side it was pretty much as expected. Stoked for Colin Farrell's win.
