  1. Most of the quotas will be awarded in 2024, like it usually is and the ones using some kind of rankings stuff have some additional tournaments in the end as well. They could be added along the way, like any other athletes. The problem is not that a decision needs to be made now. The problem is that whatever decision is made it won't be the end and we will hear about it until Day 1. People wouldn't stop honking and bonking about it and it will shade every damn event...
  2. Sadly yeah, i was hoping this topic would begin at the end of the year, or beginning of 2024, but no, we will get "glorious" 2 years of drama.
  3. What can i say, another brilliant performance and will to win from Novak. They robbed him of the title last year with the political shenanigans, but it just fueled him even more and the emotions showed that. I have seen this over the years, people trying to peg him down, but it just adds more fire in him to prove them wrong and what has made him so successful. I've been a die hard Federer fan for 17 years, but there is truth in Stefanos's words after the final - Djokovic is the greatest player of this sport. Federer had the chance to be this guy, but he missed so many direct matches with Djokovic, which he should have won. I can't count the times i was so angry and had sleepless nights after many painful loses. But in the last 2-3 years, i have put it behind me and accepted, that Federer had a rival, who pushed him to the limit and beyond and learned to respect that. Novak will break the majority of his records and frankly i'm ok with that. Hope he gets to 25 and plays a few more years.
  4. Last time i heard, peak Becker was wiping floors in some other place
  5. UEFA have approved new changes in the National Team competitions. The Nations League is getting more matches, while the World/Euro Qualifiers will have less. New formats for UEFA men’s national team competitions approved The Nations League is getting a 1/4 round before the Final 4, with home and away games being played in the March window. There will also be promotion-relegation playoffs between leagues. The Qualifiers will be decreased to 12 groups of 4 or 5 teams.
  6. Tomorrows night GS is going to be fun with all the slip ups, that happened tonight. Let's see, if Odermatt will compete, as there are rumors he has issues with a knee.
  7. Not, that i have researched that deep how they calculate the points for the starting bibs, but there are people, who never seem to finish, yet race after race are with bib 10 or so
  8. Yeah, i saw some articles about him, when we had our national championships a week ago. I'm definitely not excluding ourselves from the mix, as we have one of the biggest foreign teams around Mnatsakanian, Umarpashaev, Bataev, Magamaev, Abdelslam (even, if he is always injured), now this Ukrainian fellow. Quite embarrassing i would say from a historical plan, but that's how "the mighty have fallen".
  9. Well, anytime people say, that Russia is banned from the 2024 OG, you can mention, that half of the wrestling field is of Russians.
  10. And in true fashion, it will lead to a DNF I don't want to, but i'm beginning to think, that he has reached his ceiling in the 8-16 placing. With the state of Bulgarian sport this is a very good result, but i was hoping he can eventually start fighting for podiums here and there..
  11. Mikaela taking the all time WC wins record was always expected. With the trajectory of her career, it was clear around 2018, that not only will she get the record, but pass 100 wins. We will just have to wait to see, when exactly it will happen.
  12. As a Juventus fan this stings quite a bit. Though, if it had to happen, there is no better season to do it, then this one, where Napoli are the odds on favourites for the title and we are having a mediocre squad as well. Maybe now they will be more concentrated in winning the Europa League. I have a feeling, that this is Andrea Agnellis' punishment for his insistence on creating the Superleague. Surely all big clubs are doing some kind of financial shenanigans and payments under the table, but Juventus are being made an example of, because of Agnellis' desire for the Superleague.
  13. AO still going on, it's 5 in the morning Leave it to Murray to have back to back marathons and deprive people from their sleep.
  14. Virtually no surprises in both the men's and women's sides in the first day. Can't remember the last Slam, where no high profile name didn't lose in a full days play. Old and grizzled retiree Wawrinka doesn't fit the bill with his last few (injured) years.
  15. Opening race of the new season in Formula E and i must applaud them for finally making the cars more presentable and remove those tire fenders. They look a bit bare in the back, but nonetheless the best version so far.
  16. When they say an "early start to your sporting career", they probably didn't mean this exactly, but today i found an interesting story. In December, in the top Bulgarian women's football division, a club made a substitute and entered a 10 year old girl. She had been training mostly with boys, a few years older than her, and had played in women's U15 and U17 matches throughout the year. And the main teams coach has said, that she wanted to award the girl for her dedication and progress with a few minutes play against the women.
  17. I don't watch handball, didn't know all the drama was in this topic
  18. Can someone remind me, who is the host of the live streams between runs? I know she is a former luger, but i can't put her name.
  19. I almost would have missed this event, if i wasn't scrolling through the forum. Since when is this name change? Did the word "Universiade" sound too Russian for them..
  20. Vittozzi winning an Individual with a clear shooting Wierer skiing faster than the Oeberg sisters and Olsbu? It's a new day
  21. Which, if they are not specifically speaking about women's GS is factually not true. Amazing how paid journalist often don't do their research. Marie-Michele Gagnon - Soldea - AC win in 2016 Marie-Michele Gagnon - Zauchensee - AC win in 2014 Erin Mielzynski - Ofterschwang - SL win in 2012 Emily Brydon - St. Moritz - SG win in 2008 Britt Janyk - Aspen - DH win in 2007 Genevieve Simard - Cortina - SG win 2004 And the shocking DH World Championship gold medal for Melanie Turgeon in 2003 in St. Moritz.
  22. The history books shows us, that the last women's GS WC win comes from Kathy Kreiner in January 6th 1974 in Pfronter. And she also won the GS at the 1976 Olympic Games in Innsbruck (which also counts as a World Championship gold)
  23. WOW a win for Canada Superb two runs from Grenier. And Kranska Gora finally stops Mikaela
  24. Applauses for everyone at Adelboden, that even with spring weather, they managed to organize the races and have 30 k fans.
  25. I would lie, if i say, i'm surprised about this. No one cared about women's ski-jumping around New Years, before Ljubno showed these past 2 years, that there is some interest there. They had by far the most fans for a women's event. But of course, why make their own, unique W 4 Hills and build a tradition, when you can just copy-paste from the men and have it as a "preliminary boxing card" before the Main event.
