  1. 5.7 earthquake (5.8-6.0 according to other reports) hit about 30 mins ago, but also felt in large parts of ... Here we go again....
  2. Edward Gal has decided to take a sabbatical. He will not be competing at all this year. This leaves team Netherlands in a pretty vulnerable position. They could feasibly lose their Olympic qualification to someone like Finland. Would not be too surprising.
  3. Luckily no.... Imo both Tamberi and Barshim should have been DQ'd if they flat out refused to take part in a jump-off. Why even stage competitions when athletes can refuse and award themselves gold medals?
  4. So I planned to send in my votes right now, but there was a total havoc in the third listen. One of the entries climbed from 21st to 12th. Another from 20th to 11th. On the bright side, gold and silver medals are now fixed. Bronze will be decided between songs provisionally ranked 3rd and 4th. Down to 16 entries overall. Will give it another listen either later this evening, or tomorrow.
  5. Pretty exciting Grand Prix class in Hagen today, with Isabell Werth debuting a new horse destined for stardom. Also several riders from emerging nations posted their first qualifying scores for the Worlds... Hwang - 70.870% (!!) Al Shaer - 67.848% Burssens - 67.761% Kiefer - 66.522% Vora - 66.239% https://results.equestrian-hub.com/show/972/dressage/48036
  6. Meanwhile, Filip Zubčić fired his coach. That's pretty radical.
  7. It does matter though. How on earth do they expect 16 relays to qualify with these OSTs? 16 is waaaay to much for swimming anyways, given the inflation of relay events. It should be 12 at best.
  8. Elias Kolega retires. Sadly, as it turns out, he never did recover from the freak injury sustained in May 2020. An injury that never would have happened under sane coaching, but that's another story...
  9. Huh? I just found out that Lorde obtained dual Croatian citizenship a couple of years ago. Guess it's something new to consider for the Open then... Missed chance to have another double-header artist in Hungary though.
  10. Tuning in for the Boston marathon for the first time. I already knew the times do not count here due to the course, but boy, I never realized this means Boston has no pacemakers. That's just awesome.
  11. First listen completed. Provisional results are curious, but the overall feeling is mixed.
  12. You and I can laugh about it. But sadly there are too many people who will just believe anything that Putin can gobble up. Because, you know, storms tend to sink warships in wartimes, but apparently never at peacetimes.
  13. I just can't believe the IOC let them award two bronze medals in an event that does not even have a bracket, or pools, or anything.
  14. Wow... Thailand is going to be some next level embarrassment. Arguably no better than 5th best team in Asia? They should do better than Korea though...
  15. What happens then if The Weeknd ties... The Weeknd? One can argue there is a definitve winner in such case.
  16. https://open.spotify.com/track/3th0su52aHzcMNeSFcK5p7?si=cbOndZW9QUqVbDm1oSrhkA&utm_source=copy-link
  17. Croatia is most definitely available o Spotify.
  18. I don't think so. Back when Croatia hosted, Shawn Mendes won for Canada and performed Senorita (ft. Camila Cabello) representing Cuba for the Festival of Music.
  19. Another fantastic, flawless performance from Jessica von Bredow-Werndl to take yet another gold medal. Incredible consistency. Silver for Dufour, bronze for Werth. While it's nice that Dufour no longer collects 4th places, I think Krueth should have been 2nd today and Dufour 4th. Losos got 10th. Deserved 9th. Should have been 7th imo. Now for the retirement ceremony of one Weihegold. Results: https://www.longinestiming.com/equestrian/2022/fei-world-cup-finals-2022-partner-pferd-leipzig-leipzig/resultlist_31.html
  20. QFs for Martin Kolenc in the 500 m. That's pretty impressive. Pretty good results all around for us with several Top 30 placings in the final analysis.
  21. Top 10 guaranteed for Losos de Muniz. Leader at half-way point, with 9 more pairs to come. Also Rahmouni is headed to finishing at least 13th, which is highly impressive as well.
  22. New NR for Lithuania, as Justina Vanagaite & Nabab post 69.370% to place 4th in Poland... Previous record was held by Sandra Sysojeva (68.217%), who was also there in Zakrzow, as was yet another Lithuanian Dalia Katinaite-Pranckeviciene, who was making her international debut. http://cdizakrzow.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/14_CDI3__GP__Wyniki.pdf
  23. Fencing finally has guaranteed universality spots. It was about time.
