  1. I suspect it could be like 27 singles, 16 men's doubles, 10 women's doubles. Women having less quotas likely suggests that either the women's doubles will not be a part of the relay, or that the doubles part of the relay will be "open" (most likely imo).
  2. Rotterdam is hosting the dressage Nations Cup this week. A bit of drama happened when Charlotte Fry's Dark Legend reared hastily in the rein back and basically destroyed the arena board. Well, not really a drama, but it was funny to see the 70+ president of the ground jury stepping into the trenches herself to fix the boards while the people from arena maintenance were nowhere to be found.
  3. That's random. It's arguably one of the most spread out disciplines with three continents winning medals in recent Olympics. How come the continental representation is not an issue in biathlon for instance? Actually, biathlon looks rough with only 7 nations winning medals in Beijing, as opposed to 10 in Pyeongchang and 12 in Sochi.
  4. Indeed. Given how one nation won 9/10 sliding golds, I am gaslit as to how two new events get thrown in. Maybe Bach knows the answer. IOC completely reworked speed skating after Sochi 2014. Just saying. Nordic combined got murdered as expected. Surprised they kept the relay at 4x5. Means very few nations will get to start in individual events. Unless they allow like 6 relays to start. Also, did they not change the XC distances recently? Or was it just for the World Cup?
  5. Oh wait, mixed team skeleton does exist. Still, it's surprising they found the time to fit in something new to the already busy sliding track.
  6. Dual moguls? Sure, let's add new events that we already have... Mixed team skeleton is kind of ridiculous. I'm surprised IBSF has this much leverage. Monobob got included whilst only existing at YOG. Mixed team skeleton does not exist at all. And how on earth did the luge relay survive? Surely they don't expect many nations to qualify in all four events? The event will now take like 5 minutes per team and it was already uneventful as it was? Maybe they just aim to keep the doubles part "open" and kind of ignore the fact that everyone would select their men's team.
  7. Horrific conditions at the Mediterranean Games: We are unpleasantly surprised (in Croatian) Some very dramatic lines here: "First of all, the conditions are very, very bad and I think that first of all we need to figure out how to survive this tournament."
  8. Unfortunately, it's still all bad news coming from Oran. Apparently volleyball teams will need to travel for 90 minutes (!) in one direction just to reach their venue. And the venue is their only training option, since apparently, the village doesn't even have a gym. It's going to be a rough couple of weeks...
  9. Or better yet: Is the Antwerp World Cup really happening this weekend? Belgium organized phantom tournaments to qualify for Tokyo 2021... And they got away with it.
  10. Sure... As if France 2 would ever broadcast vs water polo match. All those "broadcasters" you have listed will be doing highlights only for their daily news. That's it. They are not interested whatsoever in creating a live event coverage for such an irrelevant event. Live coverage was the organizer's job, but looks like they failed miserably. Oh well, at least Algeria will never again be taken seriously as a potential host due to their ridiculous, authoritarian ban on journalists.
  11. It's not working apparently. "Fancy Bears" must be bored out of their skin...
  12. As France will qualify outright, more likely than not, it should be noted that Top 47 will qualify athletes in road cycling, not just Top 45.
  13. But importantly, we have this useless GIF on the official website.
  14. Still no sign of any live streaming platform or a results system...
  15. However, apparently the life guards did nothing when she started sinking, which caused her coach to jump in. That may be the biggest story here.
  16. Resident artistic swimming commentator was pretty chill about it: "Oh, this happened to her before [at the Olympic qualifier etc]."
  17. Africa will take one of the spots. Means 16 starters minimum. But also likely there will be a nation or two with better omnium ranking than some team pursuit nations, also some team pursuit nations will choose to select an omnium rider from their team.
  18. Tuned in for the solo free final... Pretty uneventful. I think the TV direction is ruining this sport. It's impossible to appreciate the choreography with all these constant cuts. At the very least they could remove those obnoxious underwater gimmick shots which add no value whatsoever!
  20. One wonders who defines the term realistic in this case? Those who stand to gain the most profit? It's funny because one of the selling points of capitalism has always been improved efficiency and less workload. And yet the 40-hour week arbitrariness has been at large for like 200 years. All those technological advancements in the meantime did not change a thing. And it does seem that someone's desire of profit is the thing standing in the way.
  21. Dosta jak tim u nekim sportovima. U atletici i plivanju nekoliko slabijih.
  22. Earlier on it was announced that New Zealand would only send two individuals instead of a team for the World Dressage Championships in Herning. However that changed today, as their shooting star Gaylene Lennard, who previously removed herself from consideration due to limited experience, has changed her mind and will be going to Denmark after all. Therefore the Group G qualification is set to be much more interesting than usual, with battling it out. New Zealand has a fair chance of upsetting Australia. Group F spot will once again be left unclaimed, since nobody will habe a team in Herning. Special qualifier will be staged later.
  23. This is kind of shady though, isn't it? They build this gazillion dollar stadium and yet they are letting people in for free? Is Algeria printing money?
  24. Yeah, and Africa got back to having two, despite the whole Zimbabwe-Zambia fiasco. Guess we are up for another fluke, miracle qualification.
  25. Lol, what is this? are pre-qualified for the KO stage. Sure, pandemic, whatever. But Olympic qualification tournaments should never allow something like this. EDIT: Now I see they get the hardest draw for the Round of 16. Ridiculous. This is unfair to everyone involved. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_CONCACAF_U-20_Championship
