  1. For what it's worth, the video of the winning ride is out there. A nice improvement all around compared to last year, as should be expected from such a young horse for the level.
  2. He made the public eye last year when he got away with a clear false start at the Olympics.
  3. But then again, San Marino is pretty liberal with guns and they get the best results per capita.
  4. History was made today as Justina Vanagaite bagged the first ever WC victory for Lithuania. Sandra Sysojeva came 3rd. These two are becoming heavy hitters. https://dressage-news.com/2022/05/29/lithuanias-justina-vanagaite-nabab-win-parnu-world-cup-grand-prix-freestyle-on-personal-best-score-for-pairs-1st-big-tour-victory/
  5. There was this Italian girl who competed for both India and Togo in alpine skiing. Essentially she just followed her father moving clothing factories between nations (don't quote me on that). Not sure if she ever raced for Italy though.
  6. Probably the easiest way to screw the longtime subscribers who lived on good deals...
  7. Greetings from Pferd International in Munich! Very tired from the night drive, but I finally get to fulfill my dream of attending a big German horse show in person. Will be sharing more pictures next week hopefully.
  8. If we have learned anything from the UIPM, it is that rules can be changed even if 90%+ athletes are openly (!) against it.
  9. While I agree, slalom does have a large elephant in the room called venue.
  10. Canoeing and sailing are right up there too.
  11. Right. Vietnam would know how UKR/LTU/LAT/EST/MDA feel about Russian hegemony. As if Putin's Russia would ever let them be if there were no NATO. Heck, LTU/LAT/EST were finally left alone from their occupier thanks to NATO (and EU).
  12. Sweden won the Dressage Nations Cup stage in Compiegne, ahead of Spain and Belgium. Very valuable podium finishes for the latter two, however it should be noted that 3/9 (!!) teams got eliminated, once again raising all sorts of questions about the validity of the three-member teams. https://results.worldsporttiming.com/event/92/championship/60/result
  13. I mean, that's a pretty good salary for a weightlifter.
  14. It is right up there with the best Canadian results of the season. Very respectable finishing score and a bit of a breakthrough for Vermont. Although, saying that, Dana Cooke & Mississippi have been the Canadian shooting stars of the year so far.
  15. North Korea has introduced a "lockdown". I thought they already had it for the past 70 years.
  16. Maybe he got rerouted to TdF by the Eritrean propaganda machine.
  17. Completed my second 5k. 33:38. I knew there was a lot of time left in the bag, as the last time I only aimed for a completion, but still I am pretty pleased with the time. This is all on treadmill though. I have zero clue on how it translates outside. It will be a steep learning curve.
  18. Interesting how they can find TV time for women to race longer, while they can find no such thing for the interval races.
  19. Pshhhh... Nobody was supposed to find that out.
  20. As for Croatia, to the surprise of no one, we have failed to make the final yet again. The last time we made it was 2016, which was incidentally the last time Bosnia and Herzegovina competed as well. And before 2016, we have to go back to 2009. But is not coming back... ever. Ex-yu was a big thorn in the ESC's eye for years, but alas they managed to solve it for good.
  21. Yes, let's have Germany win every time based on population.
  22. History repeats itself in Pratoni, as Switzerland scores yet another unlikely victory, much like they did in 2019 on their way to the Olympic qualification... Final results
  23. Somehow I am still surprised at how boring Eurovision voting is. Three straight gold medas right off the bat. How very North Korean.
  24. But then again, Ireland is currently facing a record drought at TISC as well.
  25. It's a test event for the World Championships. Tv production quality is therefore much better than usual for Pratoni.
