They looked pretty good in their race (especially compared to yesterday). With the Aussies out, Canada is the favourite for bronze. Hope they perform this afternoon.

Before the meet, I thought Canada could get into the gold medal race for the ladies team pursuit. Now I'm just glad they got into the bronze medal race. But they looked good and with Australia out, they have a better shot against NZ. But still not easy.

Totally unacceptable. Women's 8s used to be a given medal. Worst performance since 1988. Terrible. And now to watch men's 8s where Canada doesn't have a team for the first time I can remember. Much more important to have two terrible 4 man boats instead.

Happy for the silver yesterday, but this is the worst result for rowing in 28 years. Rowing Canada certainly screwed it up good.

Ugh, Canada's eights fall apart at the end. Terrible camera views on the last 500m. Absolutely no shot of the actual race. Frustrating.

The biggest thing I took from this is that COC/athletes have to pay for the ticket to Rio. I always thought since Air Canada is a sponsor the ticket was free. I mean come on. Having done many, many 12 (13...14...two back to back 13s on my way from Korea to Brazil...) hour flights in my life, I totally understand this situation, though. I'm a big guy, my shoulders spread way past the seat on both sides. When I'm in the middle I have to sit cross-armed the whole way and it hurts for days afterwards. And the legs, don't even get me started on that. I also have a nagging lower back issue from an injury years ago and basically need to lie down for 24hours after those flights. Anyway, I like Netty, I think she's a serious medal contender that isn't mentioned much. I hope she recovers well.

Yikes not a good 200m for her. 1st is surely out of reach now, and she'll have to have a great second day to get on the podium.

She's actually slightly ahead of where she was at the Athletics Championships last year right now (points wise). But much further behind the leader, and even the podium.
