  1. UWW president is from Serbia, now i see why Noroozi had to lose, the final was a joke, the Armenian scored the only real point of the match , still they made him lose by a caution. while he was more active, disgusting,
  2. well I see a clear way, whoever pays wins. if we show this Noroozi-Bolvadze match to 100 persons, I'm quite sure all 100 of them will vote in favor of Noroozi, he was much more active, still they gave only 1 caution to the Georgian and 3 to Noroozi ! I don't know who paid them, Georgia or it was for Lalovic and the Serbian wrestler. when Ara Abrahamian threw his medal on the mat to show his protest, it didn't change anything, they just replaced one corrupt official (Martinetti) with another one Lalovic.
  3. After today I pray everyday they drop wrestling out of the Olympics, the way Norouzi got against Georgia was unbelievable. he was MUCH more active, still they punished him with 3 back to back cautions ! he is the 3rd Iranian losing this way, but this one was obvious robbery.
  4. what you saw was the actual score, this is the "classification score" something stupid they show on official website, very confusing for non-wrestling fans showing classification points instead the real score is like writing 3-0 for all football results (because they give 3 points to the winner and zero to the loser)
  5. That was a mistake by our genius coach, they knew even lifting 230kg won't put him in medal position, so they decided to not waste his energy on it, instead he tried his very last chance for 231. lifting 230 could put him on 4th position though. you can change your attempts only twice and they already did that for his 2nd attempts, first to 225 and then to 230. so it was impossible to change that to 231.
  6. Well, our coach made a big jump from 220 to 231 to win a bronze here, considering there is a Kazakh weightlifter on the podium , finishing 4th wasn't a bad result, who knows maybe in 4 years after the re-testing he could win a medal !
  7. I wouldn't blame him that much if he was an ordinary wrestler but he is such a great wrestler, he should have more honor to lose like that on purpose. with those 3 wrestlers he could have been the best wrestler of all time
  8. After tonight, I know watching Greco-Roman wrestling is not good for heart, back in London we had different set of rules. luck was a big factor in close matches, but now they changed the format which was very good in first place but with this they unleashed the monster , they gave a deadly weapon to the hands of their corrupt referees , they can give cautions whenever they want to whoever they want, it doesn't matter who is really active. they will caution whoever they want. there were so many controversial calls here, SO MANY. two of our wrestlers lost matches they should won only because they were "more" active. thanks to stupid UWW rules.
  9. in term of strength yes, but he is a shame . last year he lost on purpose to Kayaalp. the same happend in 2011. guess why ? because Turks paid him well, he also lost once to Baroev (RUS), they paid him as well, he could have 3 more world titles.
  10. It was a disappointing day, but at least Abdevali saved the day with his bronze. it's hard to say anything about Sourian, he is still the best technically but his poor physical condition cost him a medal today. he dominated Ota in 1st period but then again ran out of gas in last minute, even though the last call was dubious, they could finish the match 4-4 in favor of Sourian but well... . again he was 7-0 up against Kebispayev in repechage, again made a mistake and got pinned. he just announced retirement it was really sad to see him saying goodbye like this, one of the best wrestlers of all time. as for Abdevali, he lost to stupid UWW rules, Madsen did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in that match , the same as Abdevali but at least Abdevali was a bit more active and they punished him for that. since he was more active they gave Madsen the first caution and from then they cautioned both wrestlers one by one and Madsen won because he got the last point. Abdevali was terrible in his repechage match vs Nemes but somehow managed to win the match. but finally he had a god match versus Bacsi to win the bronze. he was a monster in 66kg but in his new weight he was smaller of than everybody. so he should be happy for the bronze. we won 3 gold medals in Greco-Roman wrestlers back in London, this time I will be happy with just one.
  11. 2nd Gold Sohrab was FAR from his own records but still the level was quite low, even 403 was enough for the gold. and that's what really matters. I hope these two golds help the rest of our athletes to participate with less pressure. specially the golden boy Sourian tomorrow.
  12. YES YES YES ! like 2012 the Olympics starts for us with Rostami. but only this time he finished the job. now finally after a week, I can have a good sleep PS: Congrats to Romania for kicking that Kazakh cheater out of the podium.
  13. no, as far as I know, Czech is qualified because of having more X. there is no shoot-off in Shooting in Rifle/Pistol events in preliminary rounds
  14. well, 4 years ago it was impossible to imagine we will be this close to a medal in Rio in Fencing. well done Abedini, he was just one touch away from the final, that was heartbreaking
  15. haha, not for me, this is 4:30 am here and I have to go to work in 2:30 hours (I saved using my off-days for the 2nd week obviously)
  16. since there is a Kazakh in top 3, the 4th placer guy from Japan should be ready to receive his bronze medal in 2020
  17. Very sad for Khedmati, she missed the final for only 0.2 on other hand Ahmadi will participate in her second Olympic final, even though Khedmati was my favorite (as Asian Games winner) Ahmadi has more experience in the finals as she won two world cups last year. let's hope she makes history here
  18. no this is the final list these entries are important because they determined the groups (A or B) with them. but for example if you post 450kg as your entry, the total number of your first Snatch and CJ attempts must not be lesser than 430kg. means 20kg less than the entry (15kg for women) countries have different strategies here, some post their 1st attempts + 20. some of them just give big numbers to scare the rest. China simply only enters something to be in Group A.
  19. Weightlifting Start list http://www.iwf.net/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2016/08/StarListPackage_GT.pdf I'm a bit surprised by some very high entries.
  20. haha, what a crazy match, I'm ready to go sleeping but they just keep scoring
  21. With this seeding system you have to beat one of top 8 to advance to the quarterfinal. so I think we can't complain about the draw, but of them have winnable matches before the quarterfinal but still they will be underdog.
  22. well, obviously there is no chance for our Rouzbahani with this draw, Mullenberg (NED) in 1st round, UKR/AZE in 2nd round and then Kazakhstan in QF. the same guy who beat him in London quarterfinal.
  23. No, Mollaei is already in Rio preparing for his competition, they probably gave Khojasteh's spot to someone in another weight, re-allocation in Judo works this way, they give the spot to the next eligible Judoka, no matter from which weight
  24. Today and the whole Russian team in weightlifting is officially out
