  1. James Williams Fencing - Sabre. Olympian 1992, 1996, 2000 Died on Sunday after a short illness.
  2. Absolutely true but, on the other hand, 2 boats that didn't win gold at those championships have posted much improved performances so far this year.
  3. I'm really worried. Last four Olympics I've predicted 15-18 gold medals every time and been delighted when they won more. This year I have GB winning 30. Perhaps this is the year when it goes the other way?
  4. This is a disaster for Tunisia. The IOC will surely ban them from the Games for "political interference" now. Although they could still compete as independent athletes https://swimswam.com/tunisian-swimming-chief-anti-doping-head-arrested-for-following-wada-protocols/
  5. Wouldn't that increase the number of doubles pairs beyond the limit?
  6. Being reported that Mehdi Frere (marathon) has 3 missed tests/whereabouts violations and may have to miss his home Olympics
  7. How does this affect Llewellin's chances of going to Paris?
  8. I think World Athletics have made a terrible mistake here. Yaseen Abdella has never run a road race and never competed above 5000m
  9. It's hugely ironic that, if he hadn't been caught doping, he probably would still have been a competitive weightlifter and not have been fighting the Russians.
  10. This is one for the very far future. Annabelle Fasuba ran 12.09 for the 100m yesterday in Plymouth to put her just outside the top 30 women in the UK. Why is that notable? She doesn't turn 13 for another few months. Her father was an Olympic relay medalist for Nigeria who later joined the Royal Navy.
  11. Wow. Hunt's split time was recorded as 10.05
  12. I'll stick my neck out and say she's going to win gold in Paris
  13. It probably didn't help that Chinese swimmers and their coaches were caught smuggling human growth hormone into Australia a few years ago
  14. Just been in touch with a journalist friend who says the ITF expect tennis players from Russia and Belarus to compete in doubles in Paris
  15. Nice to see "Christmas" running well
  16. Ondine Achampong - Artistic Gymnastics I think it's now safe to say, that with 3 of the 5 woman world championship medal team likely to miss Paris, Britain will not be winning an Olympic team medal
  17. Was also used in but not in common use for over 100 years
  18. Despite last night's 100m performance in the US being wind assisted I think Rhasidat Adeleke of is now a serious threat for a medal at either 200m or 400m
  19. Texas Results M LJ Jacob Fincham-Dukes equals his PB with 8.08 but it's not a legal wind then comes back in the last round to win the event with a legal wind PB of 8.20 W200 Dina Asher-Smith looks fantastic with an easy win in 22.29
  20. To be honest, I think I didn't read it properly
  21. There's a couple of female long jumpers who don't need a lot of improvement to qualify but it depends on their fitness of course. Jacob Fincham-Dukes in the men's event has already jumped 8.02 this year. The Q is 8.27. Let's not talk about triple jump...
