  1. Who are you talking to?
  2. Would be great, but i don't see any decent partner he could team up with. A couple of years ago Moos/Osborne looked like the future of mens double sculls, but i dont know what happened then ...
  3. What is going on?
  4. Who would have thought 2 years ago that two other players born in 1997 would win a slam before Bencic would win one?
  5. I would vote for Gatlin or Froome probably.
  6. Serena must hate Germany ... First Kerber stops her from reaching #24 and no Osaka with her german coach does it. Nice story that Serena's former hitting partner now coaches the player who beat Serena at home. Who would have thought that Japan would first win a slam on the womens side and not the mens side? Although personally i dont really consider Osaka japanese ...
  7. Who do you mean? The only other young player that won a GS recently is Ostapenko and she certainly has the potential to win more slams.
  8. In 2 of the 3 events good results for Germany: If Robin Walter wouldnt have completely messed up his last series in mens junior 50 m pistol, he would have probably won silver. Seems like Germany finally has a great talent in this event. In mixed air pistol i had no expectations, so a 5th place is pretty good. Mixed air rifle was a bit disappointing, but i am sure that Reitz/Reitz will qualify later on. Also great to see that Germany finally has a great talent in women's trap who is in 2nd place after the first day of qualification.
  9. I think Anna Gasser is also doing some nice "stunts" in big air. In the end those events will always look less spectacular on the women's side.
  10. Great result for Germany in women's snowboard slopestyle, silver medal for Annika Morgan (born in 2002, she will be able to compete the next 2 years as well at junior level). I don't think Germany ever won a medal in that event, alongside with Leilani Ettel who won bronze in the halfpipe at the junior world championships last year, Germany finally has some hope in freestyle snowboarding. It took Germany very long to develop talents in the new freestyle skiing/snowboard events, but better late than never ... In women's slopestyle/big air/halfpipe snowboarding Germany has Annika Morgan, Leilani Ettel and Kona Ettel (born in 2007, 4th at the world rookie finals this year) and in women's slopestlye/big air/halfpipe freestyle skiing Germany has Lisa Zimmermann and Sabrina Cakmakli who both won junior world titles a couple of years ago.
  11. Ever heard of Chloe Kim? Murase is a great talent, but many japanese talents start to stagnate at a rather young age, she still has a long way to go if she wants to challenge Chloe Kim. Edit: Happy about the results of men's snowboard slopestyle?
  12. Thats the obvious comparison (Zverev/Svitolina), sadly ... At least Zverev is 3 years younger and maybe Lendl can turn him around. Zverev recently was much worse at masters, so maybe he will be better at slams finally.
  13. Apart from this golden generation Germany also has Marie Gülich (drafted in the first round of the WNBA draft this year) and Satou Sabally (PAC 12 freshman of the year this year), i think Germany has a bright future in this sport. Marie Gülich + Satou Sabally + Nyara Sabally should be special.
  14. Crazy that Auger-Aliassime was drawn to Shapovalov! My first round highlight, even ahead of Dimitrov vs. Wawrinka. I think Felix has a nice chance to advance if he isn't too tired by now.
  15. If i counted correctly, then the number of medals already secured by nation looks like this: Russia 7 Thailand/Kazakhstan 5 England/India 3 Uzbekistan/Cuba Brazil/Philippines/USA/Hungary/Egypt/Ukraine/Japan/Bulgaria/Puerto Rico/Ireland/Germany/Canada/Jordan Surprised that France and Italy haven't secured any medals so far.
  16. Apart from Popp absolutely horrible results once again for Germany. Her goal clearly has to be the gold medal, considering that she won a bronze medal last year. I think she is the only german female boxer who has a chance at qualifying for Tokyo.
  17. Don't know who Lopez is (isn't there a race walker with the same name?), so can't judge how realistic it is for him to lose that much ... (of course it depends on how long the time trial is, you said nothing about the distance after all ...)
  18. It depends on the sport of course. Tickets for athletics and swimming will be expensive, but for other sports there will be tickets for 50 € or less. Marathon should also be a highlight and probably free. The biggest highlight of course will be the country itself (mainly the food and the nature), i hope that i will have enough time to travel the country for a bit after the end of the olympics.
  19. Will/would be my first olympics, i hope to start a tradition ... Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 will be amazing for sure. I just hope that some of the following cities will get olympics in the near future: Budapest, Shanghai, Moscow, Mexico City, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Berlin, Toronto, Montreal, Saint Petersburg, Melbourne, Chicago There are other cities that i would love to host the olympics, but they probably can't afford it: Madrid, Rome, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Lima, Santiago, Casablanca, Buenos Aires About women's balance beam final: I will try to get tickets for that session, but of course it also depends on the schedule, there are other events that have a higher priority for me, so if they take place at about the same time, i won't go to the balance beam final. Let's hope that the balance beam final won't be in the same session as men's floor final, otherwise tickets could be very hard to get.
  20. What does "too german" even mean? His goal is to finish top 10, seems doable to me. Would be nice if Buchmann or Schachmann would develop into serious top 10 contenders at the Tour.
  21. Completely unrealistic, in 2050 it will be so hot everywhere around the world that wearing black will basically be suicide ...
  22. Because of one meet? I think she for example set a PB in the 400 free this year. The majority of swimmers miss their taper from time to time. I too expected the chinese swimmers to be faster here, but in the end they still won gold and silver comfortably. Right now my predictions would be: 200 free: Medals for Ledecky, Titmus, Ruck 400 free: Gold and silver for Ledecky and Titmus, bronze between 5 or 6 swimmers, currently i would favor Bingjie/Smith/Kesely for bronze. 800 free: Gold for Ledecky, rest of the medals between 7-8 swimmers. Ledecky is 9 seconds faster than everyone else this season, the rest of the top 9 are within 6 seconds. 1500 free: Same as in the 800 free.
  23. Good to hear. In my opinion the best solution always would have been to set up refugee camps in nearby peaceful countries, but apparently many western countries weren't willing to pay the billions necessary to do that. The goal always should have been for those people to return back home once the war is over.
  24. German team: https://www.dosb.de/sonderseiten/news/news-detail/news/75-athletinnen-und-athleten-fuer-buenos-aires/?no_cache=1&tx_news_pi1[controller]=News&tx_news_pi1[action]=detail&cHash=0187ea3cf3d3010aa6353a02850529fc Badminton: 2 (1/1) Basketball 3x3: 4 (4/0) (Only the women's team) Beach volleyball: 2 (0/2) Archery: 2 (1/1) Fencing: 2 (0/2) Golf: 2 (1/1) Judo: 1 (1/0) Canoeing sprint: 3 (2/1) Athletics: 20 (14/6) Modern pentathlon: 1 (0/1) Cycling BMX: 4 (2/2) Rhythmic gymnastics: 1 (1/0) Wrestling: 1 (1/0) Rowing: 3 (1/2) Shooting: 4 (2/2) Swimming: 8 (4/4) Sailing: 3 (2/1) Speed skating: 1 (1/0) Sport climbing: 1 (1/0) Tennis: 1 (0/1) Table tennis: 2 (1/1) Artistic gymnastics: 2 (1/1) Taekwondo: 1 (1/0) Triathlon: 2 (1/1) Diving: 2 (1/1) Medal contenders: 14 yo Clea Reisenweber in women's archery, Alexander Czysch/Marie Scheppan/Nick Schmahl/Leni Freyja Wildgrube (all athletics), Lara Marie Lessmann (BMX), Anna Janßen/Maximilian Ulbrich (shooting), Celine Rieder (swimming), Vanessa Beckstein (taekwondo), Elena Wassen (diving), Rudolf Molleker (tennis) Don't see any way for Germany to win as many medals as in 2014 (25), but this team should win more gold medals than in 2014 (2). Positively surprised that Molleker will compete there, negatively surprised that Isabel Gose won't (although understandable since she already competed at the junior and senior european championships this year).
  25. Wow, thats even more than the amount of people killed in Chicago over a normal weekend.
