  1. I have a blind guess for Chinese flag bearers. Let’s check it out later. Zhu Ting(Volleyball) and Ma Long or Xu Xin (Table Tennis).
  2. As a Chinese maybe a little subjective to comment Quirici, but I do think she just won by fame and ranking. She went through the draw by 0-0, 0-0, 1-0 and 1-1 then reaching the final !!! So no matter the final result is, Gong Li can't get the ticket here and she has to wait...
  3. Chinese Trails Day 2 Highlight Men's 400 medley Wang Shun 4:12.03 Women's 400 medley Yu Yiting 4:37.88 Ye Shiwen 04:44.29 Yu Yiting got standard A after 15 min rest after 100m fly semifinal. I think she still has potential to be faster if she won't compete 100m fly in Tokyo. Ye Shiwen's apparently not in good condition. She seemed to be struggling and exhausted after finishing the match.
  4. Chinese Trials begins today from 4.30-5.8. The format will be the same as Olympics including relays. There are some expecting swimmer in coming days. Let's see if they will surprise us. 1. Zhang Yufei in 100/200 butterfly (just finished 100 butterfly preliminary in 55.96s) 2. Yang Junxuan in 100/200 freestyle 3. Yu Yiting in 200/400 medley 4. Xu Jiayu/Yan Zibei/Zhang Yufei/Yang Junxuan in 4*100 mixed medley
  5. Not sure yet. We will not know until June or July
  6. https://www.canoeicf.com/sites/default/files/canoe_sprint_quota_allocation_-_tokyo_2020_-_media_format.pdf ICF updated the quota allocation. Very informative about America and Oceania and surprisingly CHN got a quota from NZL originally.
  7. When the ranking period end? Originally it’s supposed to end at 30th April, NOC confirmed lifters in May and IWF publish the final list at 22nd May. When to finalize the list now?
  8. And Japan announced the list. They gave up women’s epee and chose to form other 5 teams.
  9. Chinese women’s team will attend as scheduled. So the withdrawal of men’s team is more “financial”. They may literally lose funding from federation due to bad performance.
  10. I will not take the final exam to protest against Fukushima nuclear water disposal
  11. It's my personal choice and I don't know federation's preference. And there must be some internal trials again but not that crucial as this public one. Lyu Dayin and Kang Yue are also injured but they fight for their tickets with full strength. For me there is no excuse to grant a free pass for those injured with self-claimed potential. But again it's just my personal consideration.
  12. About prediction of Chinese Women's team, two lifters are 100% safe by their perfect performance, 87+ Li Wewen and 87- Wang Zhouyu. So Hou Zhihui, Liao Qiuyun and Zhang Wangli are competing for 2 tickets by their relatively good performance. Personally, I will pick Hou Zhihui and Liao Qiuyun. Hou Zhihui broke 2 WR including the total weight record, it's her advantages over other 2 lifers. Liao Qiuyun won over Li by her last attempt, showing her good competing quality even though not showing full potential. Also She is the real world champion not obtained by other's absence. So she is more deserved this ticket in terms of fairness. Zhang Wangli's performance is good enough to be the champion only if North Korea withdraws, it's unpredictable and somehow like a gift. I think the team don't like that feeling given they have other choice. As for Deng Wei, I will not count her in due to her absence and injury. She is a back-up choice now. So in short, my choice: Li Wenwen, Wang Zhouyu, Hou Zhihui and Liao Qiuyun.
  13. Obviously enough, Wang Zhouyu secure a ticket by her impressive performance.
  14. pending to see the results of Wang Zhouyu and Li Wenwen.
  15. Tian did disappoint us. Good luck to Iran.
  16. If no major injury occur in next 3 months, Chinese men’s team would Li Fabian, Chen Lijun, Shi Zhiyong and Lyu Xiaojun. No surprise in ACH.
  17. We will have a whole picture to make a prediction after Tian Tao's result. But Lyu Xiaojun also seems secure for me.
  18. My fellow-villager Shi Zhiyong obviously grabbed the ticket. So 2/4 are granted to Shi and Li.
  19. She's really injured for a long time and we don't know how's her recovery situation. She's a veteran lifter and had no secretes for rivals. Hope she good luck in coming 3 months.
  20. Seems Deng Wei did what you said. She showed up training and weight in but no lift. So what she did is just to keep qualification, am I right? @MHSN
  21. I don't know that much about the weightlifting qualification process. I'm also confused about Irawan's qualification and health condition. It's also a factor to consider. May @MHSN help answer these questions?
  22. Of course it's one of factors to take into consideration. I thought once they missed the ACH they have no more chance to qualify in weightlifting even they attend some other sports finally. The North Korean absence will favor Zhang Wangli most, and Chen Lijun a little.
  23. I would give Chen Lijun pending card. He won over Huang Minhao but the weights lifted is not impressive. He needs to wait the results of other categories.
  24. At least after the ACH, the range would be limited from 4/10 to 4/6 or 4/5. Then we will see who is the bad lucker.
