  1. I completely forgot about 2020. Trying to remember historic results when the most recent was all I needed .
  2. Huge opportunity for China. I think this is their first time competing in team eventing. Even back in 2008 they only competed with an individual.
  3. Not a good XCO from Japan. They are still within striking distance to get the quota from China. China is more or less down to 3 effective riders so they can't make too many mistakes.
  4. is likely to qualify normally through the men's rankings so next in line for the quota will be
  5. sweeps the women's race and has obtained the Olympics quota. They are currently outside of qualifying through the world rankings, but should they succeed, the next nation in line is .

  7. Here are the tripartite eligible nations competing (assuming the rules for eligibility remain the same) Men - Women -
  8. Hopefully, Canada can outdo its performance from last season. If we can move into the top 12 Olympic qualification becomes quite possible. Hoping to go at least 2-2 this week.
  9. As a reminder, the continental quotas will only be awarded if the athlete finishes in the top 30. If they do not it will go to the highest ranked eligible athlete regardless of continent. To be eligible for the universality quota eligible athletes must finish in the top 50 at the 2023 or 2024 games.
  10. Congrats to Latvia, nice to see non-powerhouse teams win medals. Who would have guessed that 2/3 medals would go that way?
  11. Congrats. The score definitely puts them in contention for Olympic qualification
  12. Latvia is going all the way, nothing is going to stop them.
  13. So is Latvia going to win the entire tournament so Slovakia drops to 10th place?
  14. Definitely a person to watch. Any chance he can sneak in the 2024 Olympics? Even as a relay swimmer?
  15. This is the first sign North Korea will take part at the Olympics. Until now, I don't think they have participated in any international event (even if they are just showing up for a weigh-in).

  17. Uruguay's ultimate goal is Olympic qualification to increase funding for their rugby program. Of course, failing to stay in the top tier hurts their overall image and post-Olympics if they fail to make the quarterfinals things might be a bit tough.
  18. I just hope the Challenger Series gets more stops, especially since there won't be any invited teams next season. The depth of the men's teams is good enough, especially with dropping. Imagine this year's series, but with those three teams replacing . I guess Jamaica (maybe Mexico sometimes) would still be here if Canada is still in the top division.
  19. The fight for the final core spot between and is coming up after the third place match.
  20. Do you know if they are awarding points as usual or like they do with the women's event (since they are doing a 7th & 11th place matches). If it is the latter then Samoa in third & Australia in eighth would be enough
  21. South Africa failed to reach the cup quarterfinals. Oceania will be represented by at least 4 nations at the Olympics. In that battle, Australia faces Fiji while Samoa faces Great Britain. Should be interesting tomorrow.
  22. Switzerland's relatively high success rate against Canada continues.
  23. Two rounds of the pool stages are completed. Things not looking good for South Africa, they need to beat New Zealand in their final game to keep their Olympic hopes alive. Australia had a bit of a bump against Samoa. Their match against France next will be important in order to get a better quarterfinal opponent. It might be important as it looks like Samoa has come to play this tournament. The play-off group looks quite interesting. Kenya is in a good position with two wins, but the group can turn into a 3-way 2-1 record tie. In the reverse, Tonga isn't out yet as we can also see a 3-way 1-2 record tie.
  24. Poland's hardest opponent was always going to be itself. They just needed to keep it clean and simple and the quota was pretty much theirs
