  1. No disrespect to Kovinic, but the women's singles tripartite quota had a lot of competition, here's who is currently in the top 400 (there's no ranking limit for tripartite quota, but it's used for the ITF places): 230. Lina Gjorcheska 241. Kathinka von Deichmann 276. Victoria Jimenez 351. Francesca Curmi 371. Sada Nahimana
  2. Next they'll add a Battle Royale event for the combat sports.
  3. Duda/Ana Patricia were already mathematically qualified so Brazil will have two pairs
  4. Check the first post, pretty much everything outside of athletics/swimming is a tripartite chance. Of course, some are more likely than others. I wouldn't be surprised if more than half of the nations with tripartite chances won't get anything.
  5. The continental quotas takes priority. So Zhang and Monteiro will keep their Asian/Pan American quotas.
  6. Going into the final month, we are down to our final 30 nations. Here's the breakdown of qualification possibility. May qualify normally (some have better chances than others) May qualify with a tripartite invitation Must rely on athletics/swimming universality
  7. We don't want to be losing winnable sets. It likely wouldn't have mattered against South Korea, but it might if the Netherlands defeat the United States and Serbia while we lose to Italy and Japan.
  8. As sad as it is for Canada, I really hope this doesn't kill the high level of the sport in Samoa.
  9. By the end of week 2. leads by 2.21 points. Canada has a tougher set in week 3 ( vs. ), but the match between the two nations will go a long way to determine who goes to the Olympics. Every set matters
  10. To be fair, 2020 was a high year for Canada. Even if we fail to qualify volleyball (a 50/50 chance IMO), we'll have a similar size to 2016 (which was also a high mark). I'm hoping Rowing Canada figures itself out.
  11. Squash went under the radar which is why it was surprising it got included. The other chosen sports made it quite well known they were trying hard to get included
  12. That's how it ended, but for a while it looked as if Canada would win by 40 runs. Then it all fell apart.
  13. Typically a 195 is a good score in T20 and we were on pace for an easy win. Then after the 8th over it all came crashing down. The pressure was too much for them. Again we weren't expected to do much, but it is heart breaking to see them lose this way.
  14. The Men's T20 World Cup begins today. With v I guess they wanted the United States to start off with a win . Still, I'm glad Canada was able to qualify, even if we are going to be the weakest team in the tournament.
  15. I wish Chile luck, but unless the IOC is willing to have smaller venues from what it's use to it will be unlikely (unless Chile wants to pull a Brazil and spend even more money building stadiums no one will use). Still it doesn't hurt to go for it. If Turkey or Qatar drop out then Chile would be in a great position.
  16. I don't think Angella Okutoyi will make the top 400 (currently she's 502). The African quota likely goes to Mayar Sherif (the Egyptian silver medalist is ranked even lower) who would have qualified through the rankings normally.
  17. Yeah, darts or snooker does not require specialized venues. It should be one of the cheapest sports to host.
  18. Good win by Canada, Germany felt like a trap opponent that could have costed a lot of points. face tomorrow. A win for the Netherlands will grant them big points, this is something probably needed if they want to catch Canada.
  19. Winning a set saves us a few points.
  20. Maybe they will propose a 24 hour Olympics where indoor events are held during the day and outdoor events during the night.
  21. In Australia's defense it makes more sense to have a minimum athlete participation of two for Oceania since they only have one quota while the other continents get two. Regardless, the rules were quite clear, just like in canoeing a minimum number of athletes must participate in the qualifier in order to avoid free quotas being awarded.
  22. Unfortunately, the Cambodia athlete did not rank in the top 180 in the world rankings.
  23. Tripartite quotas: Men - Women - The women's second quota was reallocated to . Overall, Bermuda will compete with three athletes. Also the African men's quota is written as pending. Maybe something is up with the athlete?
  24. Canada's kryptonite is up 2-0
