    I wouldn't have picked Hamelin due to the schedule, but otherwise you can't argue with either Hamelin or Poulin. Great choices.

    He's due to skate in less than 48 hours. Lineups are due today. He still hasn't tested negative. He ain't gonna be there for the team event.

    Keegan Messing, figure skating. He still hasn’t left for Beijing, and the team event is Friday morning. Canada is basically entirely out of the medal hunt in the team event without him. At this point he might not even make it for the individual event.

    I know there's the Olympics and whatnot coming up, but this week is also the Scotties (the Canadian women's championship). Of course Jennifer Jones' team isn't competing, but it's still a great field. And to my complete amazement has started 5-0 (!!!!!), the best start ever for New Brunswick at the Scotties. This includes a win over the world number 1 ranked team Fleury (lets just ignore that Fleury herself had to miss the game due to COVID) and a win over team Homan (lets ignore that Homan isn't there because of the Olympics).

    Going to be quad viewing the curling live on Wednesday morning, then the same thing for draw 2 on Wednesday evening then both the early women’s hockey games. Then bed. Will be on Beijing time from day 1 to day 4 then on both the middle and final week-ends, but otherwise I’ll just be watching the early morning and late night events live.

    Useless piece of trivia: this will be the Olympics since Turin 2006 where ski jumping doesn't start before the opening ceremonies.

    It's more the way he says it that sticks with me. He really overemphasizes every part of the word "articulation" for dramatic effect.

    First thing I did was check to see if Bode Miller was on there. He isn't, which is excellent (his commentary in 2018 was... not good). Ya, would be great if he was there. John Morgan is just a treasure, though. "The articulation of the sled!" I actually miss when Singer and Morgan used to do bobsleigh commentary together.

    Derek Livingston is replaced by Liam Gill in the snowboard men's half-pipe due to an injury.

    The problem is that federations chose the judges they send when they win a spot on the panel, and obviously for federations that have skaters in contention the first criteria is who is going to advantage their skaters the most, not who is the best judge. As long as national federations pick judges this will be a problem.

    It’s not as innovative as the Pyeongchang course (not sure we’ll ever see another slopestyle course as innovative and influential as the Pyeongchang one) but it looks like a really great, modern slopestyle course. The Great Wall motif is a nice flourish.

    Given their stated goal (per their own MoU) is essentially to overthrow the government and abolish the Canadian constitution, not that crazy. The people running this either have no idea what the implications of their MoU are, or they are just crazy. All MPs were advised to stay away from Parliament Hill.

    Huge 2-0 win for against at home, without Davies. Canada still undefeated in qualifying, every other team in CONCACAF has at least two losses.
