  1. appears all but certain to miss the final :O And will make the final!
  2. I lived out East back then, only ended up seeing one match (the - Ro16 that was played in driving rain in Moncton). It was a great experience though, honestly seeing an event as big as the WWC in was super special.
  3. I’m assuming the tickets will be extremely expensive xD I’m going to try to get both team Canada games in Vancouver along with maybe a couple games in Seattle too.
  4. Does anybody know how the quotas are decided? Is it based on sum of the final scores from the three events, the qualification scores, or the qualification and the final scores? If you don't make a final do you just get a zero?
  5. https://live-tennis.eu/en/olympics-race-men-singles
  6. Risk of infection isn’t why they backed out, it’s because 2021/22 was a compressed schedule due to COVID and because China had travel restrictions that could have left players stranded there for weeks if they tested positive.
  7. COVID was a reasonable reason to back out.
  8. The NHL has also announced this. It’s 100% official :D
  9. I thought the law only affected national teams, not individual athletes.
  10. This is real nonsense. I could make an argument for ROC being first, fourth or disqualified. Makes no sense at all for them to be third.
  11. It’s actually in the rules that athletes who get a relocated medal can request a medal ceremony at the next Olympics. So yes.
  12. Why do judges hate Ayumu so much? He reasonably could have three Olympic golds at this point (him not winning in 2014 and 2018 was defensible, but there was an argument for him to win both times), and he almost got robbed in Beijing.
  13. Also good to see Ireland given the… controversial way in which y’all missed out on 2020. (We’re not sorry about it tho :P )
  14. Sounds like this race should have been postponed or cancelled…
  15. Real setback for I do think it’s worth highlighting that this is now Japan’s sixth qualification in a row, which is quite impressive given they aren’t really a traditional power in hockey.
  16. He's obviously been dealing with some bad stuff, either medically or personally or both. His dad also had some legal issues (convicted of having sex with a minor). We don't know what happened but whatever it can't have been good :/
  17. 2015 men’s pole vault champion Shawnacy Barber has died at the age of 29 from unspecified medical issues.
  18. Or maybe the IOC could be a little less militant about the athlete quota overall and cut costs elsewhere.
  19. The tiny team sizes in team sports are just so infuriating.
  20. Not that Canada is any better in Bandy. (I’d argue Lacrosse is closer to “ice hockey on a field” than field hockey, esp the Olympic format, and ofc Bandy is almost literally Field Hockey on ice).
  21. @hckošice is gonna win the last gold medal in Modern Pentathlon with show jumping xD
  22. That’s nonsense. Golf is still in the Olympics, and we all know Bratislava produces the greatest golfers.
  23. Yes. https://olympics.com/ioc/news/milano-cortina-2026-new-competition-event-formats
  24. Those two North American stops are *really* in the middle of nowhere xD
  25. @Joshthe alpine combined is now a team event (one speed specialist, one slalom skier).
