What was up with Team Europe and Team North America?? that was so stupid, i get the idea behind it, but at least bring more teams in!

I think many players would've agreed to it for this year, i remember Ovechkin saying he is planning to play anyway, it's about country pride, and i'm sorry, the 8 team World Cup of Hockey is not an alternative!

The problem is that for basketball in the summer is fun with nba players but you don't have to stop the league (Like you would have for baseball) and it is not the main attraction. And if that will stop, i dont believe the damage will be severe. Winter however was more dependant on NHL since its really the only main stream team sport. So the IOC had to pay up. However i dont know how from here we go back to NHL participating. My feeling is that Beijing will also not have NHL players. Maybe next North American winter games if calgary gets 2026 or USA 2030

possibly, but you never know what will happen in 4 years, and it's dissapointing looking at totals from 2014, and 2010 and seeing such a big discrepancy, even if it's halfway through, we will not be anywhere close to it

Until now i will classify this olympics as kind of dissapointing for us, 5 medals, 10 gold, shiffrin no slalom medal, no gold in ski slopestyle, no medal for nathan chan, and again speed skating no medal, off course things can change a little bit, i was thinking 10 gold 20 total, but dont think it will happen (even then it will be way less then the 28 total of sochi, and 37 of vancouver) i guess it's compensated with very good summer games again

why does Biathlon, Sledding sports need to be in primetime in korea? i understand speed skating and short track, they have medal contenders, but biathlon and sledding ?? (ok besides the men's skeleton)

oh no doubt, it's more impressive that she was able to do such a great run when everyone else failed

As much as i'm happy with the american gold, i feel that this medal is tainted, i mean yea her first run was awesome and she deserves the score, however best competitors were suppose to have 5 runs, not 2, or wait in the final for 26 other people to go before your second run, or not face such bad winds

How is this schedule american fault? alpine skiing is always an early sport, look at sochi, we maybe impacted figure skating scheduling but traditionally winter olympics have much more early start times. why is luge or sledding sports starts in the middle of the night here then? we have some medal chances there, same can be said for speed skating that besides today's session all will start in the middle of the night. The decision like always goes with the host (though i'm guessing nbc will try to persuade tokyo organizers to put swimming finals in the mornings) And this time around NBC really changed their perspective, no more live delay, blocked events for online, or any of that shit, they are finally doing what's right and letting everyone see the games at their own pace. So beyond figure skating i dont see how any of the schedule is on NBC throwing money around
