  1. Eeesh, that's a impressive quartet to not even make the final.
  2. It is not a big failure. It's a small failure. They've both been off form all year and Medi has suffered family tragedy. It's impressive that she's even here. And the only person making that narrative is you.
  3. It was definitely the most likely outcome. I was just hoping that one of them or MacInnes was going to find something here to make it competitive. But doesn't seem to be the case sadly.
  4. First really disappointing swims for me this week - both Harris and Dawson look like they will miss the SFs. That's not good. And probably torpedoes any lingering ideas we had about a mixed medley relay.
  5. Swimming medal chances have just improved with both Gorbenko and Forrester missing the final...You have to think that there's 3 people going for 2 medals - Freya and the 2 Americans.
  6. It's also worth noting that our 4 medals thus far have come in 4 different sports. Which keeps up our recent record of being one of the more diverse medal winning nations out there. Obviously I want us to win a ton of medals but knowing that we are competitive in a lot of sports is a very pleasing thing. I prefer that to being very good at 1 or 2 and that's it.
  7. At the risk of cursing us, today is the first day I'm expecting us to win a bunch of medals. I reckon we have six very good chances today: Men's 200m free Mountain Bike Team Eventing Individual Eventing 10m Synchro Team Final - Gymnastics And we have a bunch of maybes. By contrast, day 1 and 2 only had six chances each day, and some of them were maybes. Obviously, if today doesn't go well, it's not a good sign.
  8. Archery: Can we beat Chinese Taipei? No Artistic Gymnastics: Do we get a medal? Yes Badminton: Does GILMOUR win her game? Yes Boxing: Does Orie win? Yes Canoe Slalom: Does Burgess win a medal? No Cycling Mountain Bike: Do we win a gold medal? Yes Equestrian: Does the TEAM win a gold medal? No Hockey: Do the team avoid defeat? No Judo: Will Nairne fight in the afternoon session? No Rowing: Do we get a clean sweep of advancements again? Yes Rugby Sevens: Do we make the top two in the group? Yes Sailing: Will the WOMEN'S SKIFF team be in the top ten at the end of the day? Yes Shooting: Are either of our guys in a top eight position by the end of the day? No Swimming: Do we get a medal in the Men's 200m Freestyle? Yes Table Tennis: Does Pitchford win? Yes Tennis: Does the DOUBLES team win their match? Yes
  9. This slow pool is still giving us some great races!
  10. Australia has looked extremely impressive thus far. Demolished and
  11. You mean the form that has them being the only nation with 2 swimmers in the final of the individual 200m?!? I get that you are Mr Doom and Gloom but that's just a weird take. It's perfectly possible that we won't win gold but if that happens it won't be because we've not shown form.
  12. Thought Adam might get silver this time but didn't expect that winner. All about the finish. Still, a fine medal. GBR are exactly where I thought they would be from these first 2 days, although I didn't quite expect the journey that we've taken to get here!
  13. Job done for them both. Don't see us getting 2 medals this time but there's definitely a chance for a medal. I'm still getting over the disappointment for Max. 3 times in a row is just too cruel.
  14. Funk looked like she got into a bit of a...funk there. Teehee. Great medal for Kimberley.
  15. Woods guarantees no worse than 4th, with 2 people left to go.
  16. Good win in the 7s. Ireland have had the beating of GBR this season, so nice to turn the tables. Puts them in a good place to reach the KO stages (they will likely lose to but should be favourites against in the other pool games), and who knows what could happen from there.
  17. It was on the BBC earlier as well. With the amount of rain they had over the last few days it's not surprising.
  18. PFP on another level. Creditable 5th place for Evie Richards.
  19. Evie Richards with a very creditable 5th place in the MTB.
  20. I had that thought as well. It's bizarre that it goes down as a defeat on points, when she literally 'won' on points. Even if they wanted to come to that decision, the logistics of it are weird.
  21. Johnny Marshall squeaks through in 16th in the 100 back. Oli Morgan a bit more comfortable ahead of him.
