  1. It's a pity we don't have a second Battocletti here :P
  2. Tokyo 2021 reminds me of it – a great time, even though Covid was still around, but you could already feel it was heading in the right direction. The only thing that made it sad was that empty stadium
  3. How many medals are predicted for us today? 5-6? Will Battocletti and Palmisano can do a silver double?
  4. I wonder if Palmisano will fight for a medal in the 20km? Gold is obviously out of reach possibility, but unfortunately, the Italian looked pretty bad in the final km yesterday.
  5. Today probably don`t enough excitement with Italy's participation? On paper, Iapichino should have won the medal today, but it is what it is
  6. She was the only fighter, who was at a high and consistent level for all competition. Even the first round today, in my opinion, should win. But note that the competition in the 57kg category is quite weak: many good girls from previous years have left: Puerto Rico, Taiwan, our own Irma. The question is whether they will return or whether someone else – a stronger one – will step in to take their place.
  7. Some funny Croatian user is simply coming here with such texts, so I had to respond. Let him focus on his country and its great athletes, who can be counted on the fingers of one hand in all summer and winter sports combined
  8. For me Irma Testa it`s better, thats all but you can have a different opinion. Overall, I have nothing against her. It's great that there are feminine girls in this sport, not just tough, masculine women like the Algerian or Taiwanese fighter. Irma is also quite feminine, but she's taller and has longer arms. She was the 2023 world champion in this weight class, then she also suffered a serious injury and didn't fight for over a year until Paris.
  9. In any case, Italian wrestling is practically done now that Chamizo and Conyedo have left. Without further naturalization, we can abandon this sport- a waste of time and money.
  10. I don`t know, how that weaker fighter like this polish girl Julia (very cute girl) can win silver medal on olympic class- category? She has very weak physical attributes – short hight and short arms. This is Irma Testa's former category: 57 kg and yours opinion, for who would she lose here? The Indian is okay, but even she is nothing special. I hope Irma returns, because the level on this category is very low without the taiwanese girl/ or man?
  11. I prefer Dutch model for speed skating: big stars + many other strong skaters
  13. It will be probably all vs nothing in Europe at match: Italy- the Netherlands on possibly Euro final 2027. For now we have a little advantage but even today was very close.
  14. Se non fosse stato debacle per Iapichino, sarebbe stata una giornata piuttosto positiva per noi (non credevo in Charaabi nel pugilato e sapevo che sarebbe finita così: solo bronzo).
  15. It's clear that Italy and the Netherlands are team of similar level, and at the next European Championships there will be a fierce battle for European gold and also Olympic qualification. I hope two European teams make it to the Olympics, because someone might have a serious hangover...
  16. This one on the left is my second favorite polish actorYou made my day :P
  17. If you think Nadal, Alcaraz or Pogacar are clean, then congratulations on your naivety, but this is not the topic for such a discussion.
  18. I think lost to France in men`s volleyball WCH will be a another probably tragedy for me
  19. Ok, but look at Battocletti: two last seasons: and top form at the Olympics/World Championships + a 2 gold medal at the European Championships. She is kept out for the entire season, but when needed, she's at 100% form. I like that approach, not winning the Diamond League and then losing at the Olympics/World Championships. Maybe a fewer commercial starts and more medals at major events? Not everyone is Duplantis, or once Bolt, who won everything and everywhere.
  20. Maybe he doesn't have Alcaraz's talent, but he's won four Grand Slams title in the last two seasons. If he is in the final and Alcaraz isn't there, he will 99% likely beat someone like Fritz, Zverev, etc. That's the mentality of a great champion. Tsitsipas, on the other hand, is from a generation of losers players who have never won anything big and probably never will (of that generation, only Medviediev has one Grand Slam title). Comparing these two people is kind of pointless... It doesn't even make sense at all
  21. Maybe she will be like Howe, maybe not, time will tell. However, she certainly deserves criticism today for her worst competitive performance in several years. There's nothing to defend here.
  22. Do you remember Andrew Howe? Also a wasted talent, but at least he had a silver medal at the 2007 World Championships. Even at a similar age to Larissa, he was entering the senior peak...
  23. Just because things were bad back then, does that mean we should be happy that the medal favorite is eliminated in qualifying? The momentum was such that Athletics was supposed to overtake swimming in Paris, which didn't happen (I thought it was due to the ITA peaking at the European Championships in Rome in June). There's no sign of anything spectacular now either, unless there's gold (and I think Diaz is the only one with a realistic chance), and swimming is consistently achieving better results (not counting the Tokyo 2020 OG, where Fidal probably broke the bank for the next 100 years). Greater ambitions are normal, if you want to be better and better.
  24. She's been missing the third major event of the season year after year. Now she hasn't even qualified for the finals... Instead of making progress, she's getting worse. Either something radically changes in her approach, or she will be won nothing big. I'm sorry to say this, but that's how I feel. And the Indoor World Championships/European Championships and the Diamond League mean nothing if you constantly lose at key events of the season.
  25. It's not about the Sweden, Italian or samothing more, but about choosing between: a one great champion vs. two/three good, but not outstanding, people. For example, I could similarly ask whether you'd prefer: one Sinner vs. three Musetti or Zverevs.
