  1. I think so. The realistic chances for our girls making the finals lie with Amber IMO, for either of the twins or Vicky making it would be a huge run. so a heats line up of Vicky, Lina, Nicole, Yemi to give Lavaia and Amber rest would be my best guess
  2. At this point I think it’s very reasonable to say Andrea is the clear favourite for bronze. GB boys look good in the springboard so far
  3. Nicole ran a very solid leg in the mixed relay and Lina ran that impressive PB pre Paris so I’m not sure where they are leaning. Maybe Yemi runs the heat to see her split.
  4. Good news for the women’s relay. Still unsure who our number 4 is; knight lina or Nicole or another - all the relay squad seem very evenly matched
  5. Not sure if anyone picked up on the kite results yesterday but both Brits going well. Emily Aldridge leading after 5 races but the rankings are very tight. Format is top 2 proceed to the final race with others joining after a semi final. 5 more races scheduled today of a total 15. Luke Bainbridge 5th after 5 races.
  6. I’m hesitant to write off the women’s TP … I know without Katie it’s a huge loss but the first 4 should be winning a medal and I don’t think Italy are out of reach. NZ may well be however.
  7. Interesting that Jess Roberts is in for Neah Evans for the heats of women’s pursuit tomorrow. I hope that’s to rest Neah ahead of a busy workload for the rest of the week (Madison and possibly Omnium) rather than an indication of form.
  8. Glad my extreme confidence in the girls squad to get this gold throughout the entire year hasn’t made me look foolish! dominant ride in the final and the men’s sprint squad look like medal winners potentially, amazing stuff! Team pursuiters are right in the mix, bring on day 2
  9. Oh Jemma…. I was always worried this was a potential scenario without Keely dragging around
  10. Jake doesn’t nail his vaults so all hopes are on Tommy for next hour
  11. Yes I know. I just think it’s rather a bizarre rule. It’s not the rule for any other placing.
  12. Bib order suddenly doesn’t matter for ties… seems a strange rule. Amber held the advantage since qualifying and that should in my book be sufficient for the win after 60 more shots
  13. The freestyle dressage is very wide open. Lottie could win, medal or come just outside the medals. Currently Carl Hester leads with 6 to go. Becky Moody in 3rd.
  14. Fincham dukes qualifies with his last jump to make the long jump final. Big boost to the field events team
  15. Jesus Bol made Amber look average; she is incredible. well done to the team for a good bronze !
  16. The 0.2 difficulty deduction was on the 2nd tumble for finishing less than 90 degs to the floor which Luke acknowledged. The Exec score seemed very punitive though compared to what I saw from the other gymnasts.
  17. Beckett into 2nd but lot of distance to the Aussie. Hannah moving up to 3rd in the women's dinghy but Dutch lead is imposing so far. the mixed boat starts with an 8th. medal chances. agree that the format for windsurfing is insanity. Emma dominated the field and whatever medal race you run her lead should have been unassailable
  18. I’m definitely not going to bite on the “Tom could have got bronze” line 🤣🤣 Tonight all the swimmers did themselves proud I think, really couldn’t have asked for more. The games has been very successful so far and long may it continue.
  19. I’ve been in attendance for both Ireland’s golds so far so I consider myself their lucky charm 🤣 very hopeful for the men’s 8 tomorrow and the golfers going well. Athletics started very nice. So much going on. I agree on Bryony , special moment.
  20. Well the 200 IM went to the form book didn’t it? Excellent swim by Duncan and brave effort by Deano but was always a huge ask for him to fight his way onto the podium given what Marchand is doing and Duncan’s form. great day for GB despite Beth’s final woes. keely was utterly cruising in her 800m and looks phenomenal. The mixed relay had a strong leg from AHW which shocked me and Laviai held on Klaver. i expect Dobson to come in on leg 1 to battle the Dutch Belgium and France for minor medals
  21. All season long Beth has been beaten to the bend by Sakakibara and not got round her. Let’s see if it’s any different tomorrow!
  22. we have very strong contenders in the slalom cross for both men and women
