  1. classic Eurosport comms after the French has a fence down "that's quietened the crowd down"...when the arena had been deathly silent while he was jumping
  2. It's arguable either way, it looks like the horse left flank may be a little bit outside the line of the flag before Ros' knee hits it. But incredibly harsh, GB would have utterly walked this competition without that flag.
  3. Is there any chance the women's 8 challenge Romania? They looked good in the heat, so you never know.
  4. The shooting is still in a break between rounds 2 and 3 of qualifying. 5 rounds of 25 shots so still long way to go. Hales in joint 2nd at the moment
  5. is anyone keeping an eye on the sailing?! Hoping to see Emma race today THERE IS AN INSANE AMOUNT GOING ON !!!!
  6. GB extend lead in the eventing. Ros has 1 fence down, France had 2 down.
  7. Hear Hear. This dude is almost salivating at any British non-success so he can claim the end of the world is approaching. There is no narrative of Brits underperforming.
  8. bugger i missed this! Too busy watching the diving / equestrian / shooting One of my GB strong hopes for the rowing golds...
  9. Silver looks almost certain, 28 points ahead of 3rd with 17 points to make up to the Chinese in gold..
  10. GB really opening up a solid 2nd place lead in the diving after 4 round and putting the pressure on China
  11. I think since trials this was always unfortunately the conclusion. We just don't have a world-class female 100m backstroker in this cycle. Hopefully Cox / Harris can progress over the next few years
  12. Keeping an eye on the trap shooting qualification; after 2/5 rounds Nathan Hales is going nicely with 49/50 scored. Coward Holley down on 46/50. Top 6 qualify for the final, and after the 2nd round is complete Hales will be in the top 6
  13. Will say that two medals are not implausible from the eventing. Tom is under a fence behind bronze currently. Burgess is another maybe, 2 outside hopes for medals in the pool with OM and AE. But today feels like a big day, we really need the eventing team and Pidcock to bring home gold for some momentum
  14. I think most of these questions are slam dunks and there won’t be much variation in answers today. Low scores would be indicative of a very poor day for GB 🤣 I have slight concern for the women’s skiff who perhaps need far stronger winds to perform better than yday.
  15. 3 good chances tomorrow for sure. Eventing team has to be a very good chance, as Tom is (a little doubt over his Covid bout recently) but otherwise will be very hard to beat without a mechanical / puncture. I would have been bullish about Laura’s chances if she had maintained her narrow lead but it’s close so she is right there. Daley to win gold in the synchro again? should be a silver there I think. Burgess also looks good for perhaps sneaking a medal. Hope sailing brings about better results tomorrow
  16. I am certainly not a medical expert, but having tendonitis in an Olympic year is bound to have impacted his prep, it’s not something that just magically heals after a few months. Let’s face it, none of us know the condition of athletes. His endurance is clearly not there from the 100m races we could see, it opens up the 200m to Stubbley Cook and the rest.
  17. Qin apparently has been dealing with tendonitis in knee (according to Swimming Propulsion guys anyway)
  18. This night was very close to being perfect for GB but poor Max getting 4th again and Peaty being out touched has left me feeling crushed. Well done to Angharad, Duncan, Matt and Ollie all making finals tonight. That in itself is a great result. Hope we can get on the right side of the close finishes tomorrow.
