  1. Yeah yeah, sure. Can we ban this guy already?
  2. Brazil was 9th in the world championship, so they got to play OQT1. If you wanted more european teams they should have performed better.
  3. On what basis is Iceland better than Brasil??? They lost to them in 2019 WCH, finished lower in last 2 WChs...
  4. Now that this thread is revived, wanted to share this brilliant video about the topic that came out recently:
  5. Yeah, I was going to say that. On paper Europe has only one quota, like anyone else. Personally I think 7 EU + 5 rest of the world is a perfect balance, for this sport.
  6. Berisha is in the squad.
  7. Yes, and Brazil also has a very good squad , with some elite club players. It's just they have been poorly managed last 2 years. As I said BRA & ARG will probably be in the same group and that group will be tough.
  8. Our team will 100% play Brazil because Japan will 100% pick Bahrain.
  9. Ok, so zero drama at this OQTs. All the expected teams will qualify.
  10. Almost comeback from Chile but not enough, they lose by 1 goal.
  11. Korea pummeling Chile. Both teams are quite bad though. Since they defeated Brazil at pan am games Chile has been terrible.
  12. Senegal withdrew. Only 3 teams will play tournament 1.
  13. That's from February 16th, no info anywhere, probably fake... Olympic draw in handball has never been done before knowing all the qualified teams, also.
  14. The most surprising result is by far the paraguayan girl in W1x. No idea how old is she but she didn't have any meaningful results last few years, being always behind most of the rivals she beat today and yesterday.
  15. Ok, so we're like the 4th strongest in rowing in south america right now we'll start taking Ls to Venezuela any day.
  16. Ok, this is a complete scandal for our team. Historic low point.
  17. I watched earlier in here (it's same feed as above I believe): https://www.canalolimpicodobrasil.com.br/videos/regata-continental-qualificacao-remo-finais-050321 You only need facebook or google account to watch.
  18. I have a feeling we will win the men's doubles and finish exactly 2nd in all the others. Hopefully I'm wrong.
  19. Oh, well I hope our men do poorly then. They can only hope for D finals or something at the games anyway
  20. We should easily qualify in W1 (less than easy Q would disappoint me from yog champion and World junior silver). And maybe both in men's but probably the doubles will go to the games.
  21. Our serbian friends, at least the ones from here, are probably: "yeah, yeah, another trophy but go win the gold medal later ok"
  22. Covid cases in Japan have been plummeting since that January spike that worried people. If that was the worst the northern winter could do without vaccine in Japan, then no doubt the games will take place.
  23. I'll list only foreign-born people currently representing Argentina in olympic sports, don't want to speak about ancestry of our people because it would be complex to classify, like for most nations in american continent. There could be someone else in a team sport that I'm forgetting. Matias Albarracin (Equestrian jumping, olympian 2016, but his family is argentinian and he has lived here since he was a kid ) Iryna Khokhlova (modern pentathlon, olympian 2016) Sol Fainberg (Rhythmic Gymnastics, pan am games 2019, argentinian parents) Stefano Lucchetti (Fencing, pan am games 2019, argentinian parents) About argentinians currently representing other nations in olympic sports that will probably be in Tokyo (so, not counting athletes that have already failed to qualify): Valentin Verga (hockey, olympian 2012, 2016) Gonzalo Echenique (formerly) & currently (water polo, olympian 2016) Damian Quintero (Karate kata, as stated above) Pablo Cuevas (tennis, just born here but lived in Uruguay all his life) There are also some athletes not born here but with argentinian roots scattered around the world (most notable would be american Diana Taurasi, the basketball player) but I can't remember them all right now. About the past, there have been numerous argentinians representing other nations, mainly Spain and Italy (obviously). In the case of italy a lot, specially in sports like football, rugby and field hockey, but also some in sports like volleyball or sailing.
