  1. We should easily qualify in W1 (less than easy Q would disappoint me from yog champion and World junior silver). And maybe both in men's but probably the doubles will go to the games.
  2. Our serbian friends, at least the ones from here, are probably: "yeah, yeah, another trophy but go win the gold medal later ok"
  3. Covid cases in Japan have been plummeting since that January spike that worried people. If that was the worst the northern winter could do without vaccine in Japan, then no doubt the games will take place.
  4. I'll list only foreign-born people currently representing Argentina in olympic sports, don't want to speak about ancestry of our people because it would be complex to classify, like for most nations in american continent. There could be someone else in a team sport that I'm forgetting. Matias Albarracin (Equestrian jumping, olympian 2016, but his family is argentinian and he has lived here since he was a kid ) Iryna Khokhlova (modern pentathlon, olympian 2016) Sol Fainberg (Rhythmic Gymnastics, pan am games 2019, argentinian parents) Stefano Lucchetti (Fencing, pan am games 2019, argentinian parents) About argentinians currently representing other nations in olympic sports that will probably be in Tokyo (so, not counting athletes that have already failed to qualify): Valentin Verga (hockey, olympian 2012, 2016) Gonzalo Echenique (formerly) & currently (water polo, olympian 2016) Damian Quintero (Karate kata, as stated above) Pablo Cuevas (tennis, just born here but lived in Uruguay all his life) There are also some athletes not born here but with argentinian roots scattered around the world (most notable would be american Diana Taurasi, the basketball player) but I can't remember them all right now. About the past, there have been numerous argentinians representing other nations, mainly Spain and Italy (obviously). In the case of italy a lot, specially in sports like football, rugby and field hockey, but also some in sports like volleyball or sailing.

  10. I don't think it is fear, they played bravely and their very best, it was two lapses in concentration in two key moments that denied the win.
  11. Penalties! The desperation to win sabotaged both teams.
  12. Landin is still crazy but with no Hansen Denmark doesn't find the same paths in attack. I think Egypt is taking this.
  13. Ridiculous mistakes prevented both teams from winning at the end of regular time and extra-time. Crazy.
  14. They started with a 11-4 but lost. Many legs shaked during second half. I just hope Qatar won't advance.
  15. Our team has been in Cairo all tournament but we've avoided all injuries, covid, stomach-aches, nuclear bombs and the 10 plagues.
  16. Draw. I predicted Egypt to win, but they missed two easy 1v1 shots in the last minute and allowed the draw. I'm so angry. Egypt has advanced to QFs, they will do it in first place if Russia wins.
  17. Wow I just saw the biggest stupidity ever, Slovenia was leading by 4 and they tried to play with an extra man in attack (why? You're leading by 4 on the 2nd half, just make long boring possessions). They lost the ball 3 consecutive times and Egypt scored 3 goals to an empty net by the first goal you should have stopped playing like that.
  18. Cooperation with russian space agency was signed in 2019.
  19. ahh I remember being so frustrated, our team also tied Russia in the 2nd game but then fell apart for the final games and even failed to beat KSA which would have qualified them for the next round.
  20. But Croatia is not out and they can still qualify wtf Woody Allen is old and tired.
  21. Not really, they need to beat a Denmark team that (probably) will already have secured 1st place and hope Argentina lose to Qatar. Both things are perfectly possible.
  22. I consider Egypt favorite against Slovenia and so do betting sites.
  23. Why are they invalid? Out of what total?
  24. Did this guy join the forum just to post about the cancellation of everything? What a bad troll.
