  2. Round 16 of Copa Libertadores are set, here are the match-ups: (In brackets the number of seed, the lower numbered team will play return leg at home, the seeds remain for the following rounds too) (1) Atlético Nacional - Huracán (16) (8) Rosario Central - Gremio (9) (4) Atlético Mineiro - Racing Club (13) (5) Toluca - Sao Paulo (12) (2) Pumas - Deportivo Tachira (15) (7) River Plate - Independiente del Valle (10) (3) Corinthians - Nacional (14) (6) Boca Juniors - Cerro Porteño (11)
  3. Brazil will probably choose the group with Qatar in Men's and the group with Argentina in women's (unless NOR and KOR are in that group too).
  4. The problem (at least with the volleyball uniforms) is that they look like training clothes rather than actual match uniforms.
  5. If had their Hockey team I'd support them without a doubt like I always did, but in this case I'll just go with nearby
  6. You say that because Europe has strong club competition, so your players don't lose much if they only have to turn up for the world cup or olympics. But what about the rest of the world? world league or champions trophy is crucial for them to not lose level.
  7. Brazil has a presidential system, not a parliamentary one. The head of government and the head of state is the same person, so there is no PM, only a president.
  8. With qualification in Gymnastics we have 189 athletes confirmed Only 11 to go to achieve the round number and -curiously- all-time record of 200. I think we'll have for sure 3 in Judo, 2 in BMX, 2 male golfers, 4 male tennis players and 1 female pentathlete. 2 or 3 more swimmers is likely too. And quotas in Triathlon, MTB and Kayaking are also in the cards.
  9. Not that I really care about our performance in this sport, but... sigh...
  10. Lost to Virgin islands, total fail. 0 will be then.
  11. Today start american qualifiers, I predict we will qualify in Men's Sabre (we have the best ranked and there are 2 spots) and only that. We also have chance in Women's Epee, but I feel she will fail. Our Foil is terrible and in Men's Epee we don't have our best fencer here so, no chance either.
  12. lol just like before the world cup draw, I got my wish granted. Thanks FIFA group D is the farthest away from facing Brazil and has the best venues (no matches in the north..). I don't like two things however: a- to play the first match with Portugal. b-Having the prospect of Germany/Mexico in the opposite group. But we'll have to pass the group first...
  13. Well, the positive aspect is that Messi and Mascherano will have more rest for the copa america. I also hope atlético and city lose in semis because we have half of our team between those two clubs. Let bayern and Madrid play the final (and hopefully bayern leave Madrid trophyless )
  14. We also have a law of protected events in free tv (everything that involves an argentina national team of any sport), but the new government will scrap it
  15. Decent performance of the argentines (though Cabrera had a nightmare last 4 holes...). I hope Cabrera climbs rankings and gets our 2nd olympic quota instead of Gomez, since I think Cabrera is better despite inconsistency.
  16. No, it's goal difference in the matches played between the tied teams.
  17. Best: 70s/80s Worst: 2000 onwards.
  18. Women's Pan American Junior Championship 7th Place Match: Mexico 1 (4) - 1 (3) Barbados 5th Place Match: Uruguay 9 - 1 Trinidad and Tobago Bronze Medal Match: Canada 0 - 3 Chile Gold Medal Match: Argentina 6 - 0 USA ARGENTINA 7th Title (out of 8 editions) 63 goals scored, 0 received
  19. Neymar is already confirmed to play (and because of that he had to opt out from the Copa America, to please Barcelona). The other two I don't know, but I think they have like 10% chance to play since both are in the Euro.
  20. Sorry If I seemed aggresive. Yes, Messi is an unrealistic pick. There is no way a club like Barcelona will release their star player for TWO summer tournaments. Much less if one of them isn't in the FIFA calendar. (anyway in his case doesn't matter because the coach already confirmed he won't play the olympics).
  21. I agree, but I wrote "isn't always true".
  22. 1) many users, when the draw came in the old forum everyone was sure that Poland and Macedonia were unquestionably going to get the tickets. 2) I don't agree that Macedonia is weaker than those specific nations you mentioned (results of mid-level european handball teams seem to vary a lot with each tournament), but it isn't important to my point. I just criticize the eurocentric prejudice that made everyone predict Macedonia when Tunisia has a lot of players based in european clubs and has produced great results in the past.
  23. Give me right now your list of what you consider your 18 best U23 players, so you don't make your usual excuses later about "we were missing x, y or z" if you lose. Include if you wish the 3 overage players, but realistic picks (not something like "Muller, Gundogan and Boateng", which isn't realistic).
  24. One more lesson for totallympics euro-users that "europe > everything else" isn't always true.
  25. There is no country that will participate in all 7 team sports (or 8 if you consider beach volleyball another team sport). Mostly because USA, China, Japan and Australia all happen to suck at handball PS: Except for host Brazil, obviously.
