  1. I know that, I'm just counting all the quota we have, even if provisional. I will remove them if at the end they are rejected. And for me it's not a stupid decision, I'm tired of sending a bunch of people that end in last place or abandon the race. We should have harder standars in all "mark" sports, if it were up to me.
  2. If it's of any consolation, I think this is the most talented Junior team of all our history. I predict at least 3 of these players will be in olympic squad.
  3. I was already opening the champagne bottle.... We can never win a medal
  4. I already said this in the old forum, but I'm quite confident Brazil will win at least 10 golds. - at least 3 volleyball events - 1 swimming (possibly the women marathon) - 1 Sailing (host always seems to win at least 1) - at least 2 in Judo - at least 1 in Boxing (maybe more, this ALWAYS happens in boxing) - 1 Men's Football (something can happen, but they will have the most complete team for sure) - 1 or 2 between: Gymnastics, Canoeing Sprint, Modern Pentathlon, Tennis Doubles, Shooting, Athletics
  5. Very strong rumors that the 3 overage players for the olympics will be Geronimo Rulli (GK, Real Sociedad), Ramiro Funes Mori (CB, Everton) and Mateo Musacchio (CB, Villarreal). I agree that we needed two defenders since it's the weakest line of our U23 team. I would have chosen a midfielder instead of a goalie though, but it's not that bad. I will make today my prediction for the 18 player list (not what I would pick, it's what I think the coach will select) let's see how many I get right at the end this list is assuming all the clubs agree to release the players however:
  6. BTW Bautista shouldn't be confused with his younger brother Francisco, who won gold in Nanjing and a bunch of windsurf youth world ch. medals.
  7. The selection in men's rsx was through accumulation of points in three specific tournaments (the last one was world cup Miami I think) and Saubidet simply had better results and was selected. For other categories like nacra or 49er there wasn't any selection because we have one boat that is far better in level than the others, so there is no point. In those categories, the people who got the quota will represent Argentina automatically.
  8. BTW this tournament was selective for our RSX women and Maria Celia Tejerina won the place. So now all our team representatives are confirmed.
  9. Yes, NZ was with full team, but I wouldn't look much into friendly tournaments of this sport, they produce too many unusual results. I remember for example last year in November our women's team played friendlies with China and India and tied both, then our U21 team played them and won 5-0 and 3-0 respectively...
  10. We need 3503403430 shots to score a goal, I'm tired and bored of this team and coach.
  11. MEN'S CONCACAF/CONMEBOL PLAY-OFF Knock-Out Round 2 Nations, Home/Away Matches, Winning Nation will Qualify to the Men´s Olympic Football Tournament 2nd Leg Result (2) United States 1 - 2 Colombia (3) (Half-Time Score: 0-1) 29th March 2016, h. 20:30 (GMT -5), Toyota Stadium, Frisco Following Nation Has Qualified for Men´s Football Tournament at the Summer Olympic Games 2016 Colombia
  12. Iraq, Syria, UAE and China qualified for next round. They will be joined by Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Iran, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Qatar and Australia.
  13. African junior Championships were last week, teams qualified for Junior (U-21) World Cup are South African & Egypt Men (Egypt won the final 3-2), South Africa & Zimbabwe Women (SA won all matches round robin).
  14. Fortunately Lebanon made a favor to everyone and failed to beat Myanmar (even with 10 additional minutes ). China is about to qualify too... ($$$$$)
  15. I predict Syria, UAE, Iraq and North Korea will advance to next round as 2nd placed teams. I don't see Jordan not losing in Australia and I think China won't beat Qatar (I'm assuming Qatar will play with their best team...). Iraq will beat Vietnam and I think North Korea may drop points in Philippines, but will still advance.
  16. Results of world cup stage in Santiago del Estero, Argentina: Elite Men: 1- SHARRAH Corben USA 2- FIELDS Connor USA 3- MIR Amidou FRA 4- TORRES Exequiel ARG 5- NYHAUG Tory CAN 6- van GENDT Twan NED 7- LONG Nicholas USA 8- CAMPO Alfredo ECU Elite Women: 1- BUCHANAN Caroline AUS 2- PAJON Mariana COL 3- SMULDERS Laura NED 4- CHRISTENSEN Simone DEN 5- ETIENNE Axelle FRA 6- CRAIN Brooke USA 7- POST Alise USA 8- VANHOOF Elke BEL
  17. The biggest differences will be in (naturally, due to being a youth tournament) Men's Football. Only 5 teams will be making a return (BRA, HON, MEX, JPN, KOR).
  18. Men's wp will probably be the same with the exception of Japan (x KAZ). In all other team sports events we are already assured of at least one different team (excluding the host quota).
  19. The refereeing in this sport is terrible, just like in Handball. Fouling and exclusion rules aren't very consistent, the referee can make one team win if he wants to.
  20. Del Potro lost and showed signs of injury
  21. Brazil Field Hockey, Qatar Handball. For Argentina nothing new, Badminton remains only sport we have never participated in.
  22. What was the reasoning behind the people who wanted to keep the flag?
  23. Really? I don't see much space left from the aerial pic. Or you mean pitch 2?
