Tokyo Summer Olympic Games 2020 News
LDOG replied to uk12points's topic in Summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
The main issue is whether to give a direct quota to Europe or not, with Africa is not even a debatable... no. -

Slalom Canoeing Qualification for Summer Olympic Games 2016
LDOG replied to hckošice's topic in Canoeing - Slalom
I asked some journalists on twitter and none of them gave me an answer and I don't think they understand the motive very well themselves. The only source of this is Rossi himself, who seems to be very sure of it. -
Tokyo Summer Olympic Games 2020 News
LDOG replied to uk12points's topic in Summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
I don't see any problem with any of those sports being added, my only issue is the limited quota all of them will have. Especially the case of karate and climbing. I just hope that for Baseball and Softball they don't give continental quotas. Just make a world qualifier and have the best 5 teams qualify (maybe the world baseball classic?). -
Carroll did well, but in the last set he couldn't make a serve without fault to save his life...

One more thing: There are two categories you guys can make suggestions for. First, there is the "Sporting Rivalries and Medals" category, which covers general aspects of the Games and/or rivalries between specific countries. Second, there are the Individual sports categories, which are bets about each sport in particular.

This is an idea I had in mind lately about the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio 2016. Everybody who’s interested in taking part, be welcome. This contest is just for fun, thus unofficial, so there are no Points to earn concerning the Prediction Contests General Standings. This idea was permitted by Sindo. The Olympic Bet Contest was already held 4 years ago for the London Olympics. It consisted of a series of questions asked to the users about the Games which they had to answer for Yes or No while placing a "bet" of a certain number of points in each answer at the same time. These are some examples: 1. At least 90 different NOC's will win at least one medal in London 2012. [YES/NO - X] 15. Slovakia will be placed above the Czech Republic in the Overall Medal Table. [YES/NO - X] or for specific sports: Aquatics - Water Polo (1)37. All three participating ex-Yugoslav Teams (CRO, MNE, SER) will reach the Semifinals. [YES/NO - X] My intention is to recreate this contest for the upcoming Games, so I'll need your help. This thread will be used for you people to make suggestions for possible questions to be featured in the contest. You can see here the questions (and the overall format) that were used for the 2012 contest, so you can get an idea of what are we looking for. This time however, due to the addition of two new sports, the contest will be expanded to 120 questions and 400 points for each user to distribute among them. The Selection Committee, composed of me and Quasit, will then pick by the end of June/early July the best 120 suggestions which will be used for the contest. Please, I'd also like to ask you to not make more than -let's say- 25 suggestions per user. We count with your help! Cheers, LDOG.

I know dude, I meant to say, for the seeding will they use ranking at the end of may or ranking at the end of July?
-
I have another question: I know qualification ranking closes now, but, will this ranking also be used for seeding at the olympics? or that will be done with the very last ranking before Rio?
-
Panamerican Junior Championship Quarterfinals results: Argentina 12 - 0 Guyana Mexico 2 - 3 United States Chile 11 - 0 Puerto Rico Canada 3 - 2 Trinidad and Tobago Semifinals (winners go to world cup): Argentina - United States Chile - Canada

And Fencing In individual sports we can only qualify through rankings, when there is a qualifier tournament it's always a failure. 0 ability to handle pressure.

0 in taekwondo, 0 in canoeing, 0 in rowing.... fantastic 2016.

[POLL] Which are your 5 Top Favorite Summer Olympic Sports? (2016 version)
LDOG replied to vlad's topic in Totallympics Polls
They took world rankings of team sports.... and only male it seems. Now it makes sense. But still, we have a like a million world titles in male Polo and Roller Hockey, so even worse: they only took "popular" sports. -
[POLL] Which are your 5 Top Favorite Summer Olympic Sports? (2016 version)
LDOG replied to vlad's topic in Totallympics Polls
It's "being the best at", not the most popular, right? Then it's wrong, because Argentina has been much more succesful at Polo, Field Hockey and Boxing than it has been at football -
Didn't know. Then I expect 1 quota now.
-
It's not about optimism, just logic. None of them were semifinals first place therefore I have no reason to expect them to take top 2 spots. Obviously performance can change from one day to another, but my provisional expectations are this.
-
We also have 4 boats in final, I think all 4 will fall short though.
