  1. Thanks for that one (your post is in the previous page btw). We have 4 then, but I just checked all the cross-country participants of the last event and there isn't a single one under the age of 18, so the answer will be a "no"
  2. The Points Race and Madison events in track cycling follow a similar concept with the "lapping the field > sprint points" rule.
  3. Thanks. From what I see there aren't any under 18s in the hockey or curling teams that can win a gold tomorrow and there aren't any U18s either in the current top 7 teams in bobsled 4s (haven't looked up the lower teams though). So, unless there are some U18s in the cross-country event, we are very close to a "no" answer
  4. Participant help needed: does someone know how many under 18 gold medalists we have as of now? I'm only aware of Red Gerard and Zagitova.
  5. Most tech-savy 80 year old for sure, I wouldn't be able to type that fast.
  6. Also he seems to tweet move by move, how can he watch and tweet all that at the same time??
  7. Ok, let's see... About 2): As I stated in the first post of the relevant discussion thread, the users do suggestions, but the selection committee reserves the right to reformulate them or give them another interpretation. Regardless of that, what you're saying in this case is not true. Here is the post where you made suggestions and you wrote "individual medals": About 3): Why does that matter? the predictions (and subsequently, the results) are set in stone since the deadline of February 9th, it's not like any participant can go now and edit their predictions according to what you say here. In fact, anyone that does that would be DSQ. This is a "one phase" contest. About 1): We are not perfect, far from it, and that's why we make mistakes. Sometimes some ambiguities or lack of clarity in the bets flies under my radar. In this case, somehow, we made a mistake and deleted the word "individual" from your original suggestion. I don't know how that happened and I apologize deeply for that. Since the last contest I established a policy that in the case any user presents to me a problem with the meaning of a particular bet in the discussion thread AFTER the contest has already opened and AFTER several users have already posted predictions, I would then clarify the meaning of that bet in the discussion thread. No one objected to this policy neither 2 years ago nor now, therefore, I understood that the participants gave tacit agreement to it. I'm just asking users to read the specific discussion thread created for this contest (that is apart from the regular prediction discussion thread), I don't think that's asking too much honestly. In the case of this particular bet, one user asked about the relays' problem (this was BEFORE the deadline) and I answered that according to our interpretation it doesn't take into account relays. The reason: we simply thought including the relays made the bet easier than what we wanted it to be. Later (AFTER the deadline), another user warned me of some ambiguity problems with bet number 58 and since it was after the deadline (so, users couldn't edit their posts anymore, unlike with bet 60) I decided to award the invested points for both YES and NO.
  8. Relays don't count. Someone asked about it before the deadline and I clarified that (and by the way, your bet for that one was 1 point, not 10).
  9. I'm just doing Occam's razor and inductive reasoning, but I don't claim to know anything.
  10. Sure, and you could be a monkey typing from Thailand for all I know. We can't live life without making any assumptions. (now, being more serious, Pablita is either: a real female name -it's an unusual one in spanish at least- or, more likely, a nickname for Paola, which also is a female name in all latin languages).
  11. Her profile says she's female (in the case the clues of having female username and female cartoon character as her avatar weren't convincing enough).
  12. I need confirmation of something: Sweden officially finishes higher than Finland in this tournament, right? I see in wikipedia they place Sweden 5th but I need to know if that will be official or if it's just a unofficial ranking.
  13. Meh, very predictable and boring. Disappointed with Kostner and the americans.
  14. Argentina and Chile should focus in competitive ski (all the variants) because at least they have all the structure and natural conditions for that already in place. Now it would only take for the NOCs to actually start caring one bit about winter sports...
  15. I'm very sure at least Sheilla Castro and Thaisa Menezes were part of all of them. Adding one more: Kieren Perkins of Australia won swimming 1500m Freestyle in 92 and 96 but then silver in 2000.
  16. You say that because your country wins lots of medals all the time, so one more or less wouldn't make any difference. If you were from Nepal and someone wins a medal for your country you would be cheering like a madman even if that person had the most bland personality in the world.
  17. Yes, you were the biggest contributor but I cannot just choose all of your suggestions. Overall, there were enough suggestions but not a big pool to choose from. Obviously in biathlon and hockey there were a million suggestions, but those are just 2 sports. For most other sports we were in a situation were we had to choose 4/5 out of a pool of 10 and sometimes there were bets that were too similar or way too easy (Yes, I know many "easy" bets made their way into the final selection, but believe me, there weren't much better bets left out in their place). As for football, I think we can be creative enough for a bet contest of around 50 questions without reaching the point of asking for players' wardrobe.
  18. Apparently there is doping of russian mixed curling team.
  19. It would be fun, but if we struggled to get enough suggestions for Winter olympics I don't want to imagine what it would be for FIFA world cup. I mean, I could do 100 suggestions myself but it wouldn't be proper for me to organize and pick my own suggestions. Now if you are willing to organize it in my place...
  20. There aren't negative scores. Your possible final score ranges from 0 to 250, the more bets you win the closer you are to that maximum score, but you don't get deducted points for losing a bet. I think for next edition we could add that "risk" feature, so users think twice before betting 10s left and right (something many users did for this contest). But I will need time to think about how it could work best.
  21. Can someone tell the guy to stop trying new stuff and focus to become good at something?
  22. Snowboarding (5) 61- Czech Republic will win at least one Gold Medal. [YES/NO]
  23. No one commented on it, but the participant finished in front of Smith from
  24. Juventus will kick out Tottenham when Dybala, Cuadrado and Matuidi come back.
  25. Yes, other south american countries are improving in swimming (assuming everyone else takes the best). Also, there is the altitude which could help colombian athletes in some sports.
