  1. They must be showing every pair that signed up there, including alternates.
  2. Duncan Scott in 200 FR and 200 IM, Dawson with a shot in 100 BK, maybe Proud in 50 FR. About yesterday (or this morning in Tokyo), a bit sad Ledecky couldn't win, but she looks very good and is a clear favourite to win 800 and 1500 if her body holds up after a busy week. Summer McIntosh amazing at 14 yo, will win a medal in 4x200 for sure and even a shot in the individual race. Chalmers split... Insane. That 100 FR final will be the race of the tournament.
  3. This was a couple days ago. It was already known that Tokyo was the last tournament ever for Paula Pareto and she confirmed her retirement. In my opinion, the best athlete in an individual sport in this century. This was the welcome in the olympic village from fellow athletes.
  4. Obviously she coudn´t. But at least got a marriage proposal from her coach and longtime boyfriend.
  5. Just heard that she'll fight, but let's see if she can do something in that form.
  6. Paula injured, problem in her elbow. And there it goes our first medal chance.
  7. After many losses, Pareto scores the first win for in Tokyo as it should be.
  8. Even with all the withdrawals it's a great field as most of the top 10 players will be there. And with less competition in the early rounds they should all reach the final stages of the tournament.
  9. doesn't have any safe medal, but I'd say women's field hockey team and Lange/Carranza in Nacra17 are the best bets. Then I don't know, I would pick Pareto just because I'm biased, but it should probably be another team sport, maybe.
  10. Almost 3 AM. People needed to celebrate a win here.
  11. I'm more pessimistic than the last time. Likely medals I have only Nacra 17 (Lange-Carranza) and women's field hockey. With a bit of luck and if the planets align maybe one of the other teams, one of the doubles in tennis, women's 48 kg in judo (Pareto) and men's 58 kg in taekwondo (Guzmán). Anything else would be a total surprise for me.
  12. Wimbledon draw is out there. Djokovic and Federer could meet in the final, but Roger has a couple of dangerous players on his way (Medvedev and Zverev/Berrettini). The women's draw is quite open as always, but looks good for Sabalenka. Sadly, defending champion Simona Halep withdrew at the last minute.
  13. Well, it's lower than that at least because #103 Federico Coria is already confirmed by our NF.
  14. Facundo Bagnis and Federico Coria are qualified too.
  15. Del Potro-Pareto, but he won't go due to injury and she can't due to schedule, so I'm ok with Lange-Carranza (olympic champions in Nacra17).
  16. No epic comeback. https://twitter.com/teamdelpo/status/1407371945633533959?s=20
  17. The rule says 6 max per gender, 4 max in singles and 2 teams max in doubles, but nothing about only 2 doubles players. I just checked and in Rio Brazil and Great Britain had 3 male "only doubles players" each.
  18. So Monfils will go or not? Garin the last one to withdraw. For we have confirmed Schwartzman, Podoroska and Zeballos/Molteni in doubles + Podoroska/Zeballos in mixed if they make the cut. Bagnis is likely to go too with one or two more withdrawals, Coria also wants to go but he's a few more positions behind. And then there is Del Potro who has the protected ranking, but who knows if he'll finally go.
  19. When is the first realistic medal chance of the Games for your nation? First day, Paula Pareto in Judo (48kg) and Lucas Guzmán in taekwondo (58Kg) When do you think your nation will get their first medal and in which event? If it´s not the first day, then probably around the second weekend when tennis and sailing begin their finals. If not by then, during the last week for most team sports finals. Is there a bumper day for your nation where you expect more than one or a few medals to come? If so, what day? We don´t have that many medals expectations at all, so probably not. Is there a day when you expect to have not so much competitors from your nation competing or no chances for medals? One of the benefits of having so many teams is that every day we have 3 or 4 playing a match, so probably around the last days of the Olympics if none of them make the finals.
  20. Women´s field hockey team winning gold for the first time and Paula Pareto winning another medal in her last competition.
  21. Was it intentional? I read that she couldn't enter, but I don't know. Seems odd if it was tactical.
  22. Don’t know if fun is the word, but some athletes i like and want them to do well that I can remember now (among others): Athletics: Allyson Felix (if qualified) Ivet Lalova Angelica Bengtsson Sam Kendricks Maria Lasitskene Yulia Levchenko Yaroslava Mahuchikh Airine Palsyte (if qualified) Mutaz Eza Barshim Canoeing: Isaquias Queiroz dos Santos Fencing: Ana Maria Popescu Gymnastics: Larisa Iordache Judo: Daria Bilodid Swimming: Katie Ledecky Nathan Adrian (if qualified) Kliment Kolesnikov Yulia Efimova Simona Quadarella Sarah Sjostrom Tennis: Simona Halep Iga Swiatek Daria Kasatkina Roger Federer Novak Djokovic Daniil Medvedev If i had to choose only a few from this list, I'd say Felix and Federer winning golds, Efimova, Halep and Iordache winning a medal and Ledecky sweeping the 200-1500.
