Today is the first time I'm on Totallympics since the end of the Paris 2024 games. Or better yet, since the beginning of the Paris 2024 games.
 
I was working and therefore it was a bit impossible for me to follow things here as I was busy around 12h a day and the other hours I was trying to meeting friends and have some fun in Paris.
 
The experience was amazing. I would basically every morning go to a café and prepare myself for the day aheard.  trying to go to different cafés was a bit hard after week 2. At evening I would go to some bar or bistro to meet friends and watch more events. Most of French and Parisiens were complaining about the Olympics (as they always do) but after the first few days (Opening Ceremony, Dupont, Marchand, etc) they were already head over heels and it was fun to witness that for the 3rd time in a row.
 
It was amazing to meet @Sindoand @Jan Linhaand also chat with some other users during those days. And it will be nice to rewatch or properly watch many of the events and perhaps check what you all were discussing "in real time".

Yup, this was indicated last year and now it's official.
 
One take about the movie A Real Pain since it was primarily filmed in Poland - city of Lublin to be exact. It's funny since the city major said lately that "Lublin finally played Lublin in the movies" as the city is in relative obscure location on the south-eastern wall and even Poles don't shoot movies there

I'm doing terrible at the predictions but I don't care. The trio of winners Flow + I'm Still Here + No Other Land is sooo good.

Our first ever Oscar!

I am so, so relieved that I'm Still Here, one of the best film of the year, has beaten Emilia Pérez, a movie that has already won two Oscars more than it desereved.

I was already expecting Anora to win best picture going in, but at this point giving the editing win it's hard to see how anyone else wins.

Worth mentioning that Flow is the first ever Oscar win for a Latvian film!

I loved September 5 but one thing bugged me: why they included images from Cuba x URSS at Moscow 1980 during the announcement that there was still some volleyball matches going on. Probably nobody else noticed that and obviously it has not hampered the film on the slightest, but still...

Thanks for starting this @vinipereirawe actually have the same bets on 19 from the 23 categories (only actress, original screenplay, sound and documentary short, if i saw correctly are different).
