  2. Young Chinese swimmers always do well then disappear. They must be on something !
  3. Eric Guay will retire at end of season.
  4. Yes but the 1500, 2000m steeplechase and 3000m will do cross country for stage 2.
  5. At the Calgary 2026 engagement website, 68% of votes strongly disagree with Calgary hosting. The plebiscite will be close.
  6. Dutch and Hungarian, Four time Olympic medalist, and his gold in 2004 was the first Summer Olympic gold medal won by a Canadian I can recall
  7. CBC will only show highlight packages.
  8. will have 13 athletes (Archery 1, Athletics 4, Badminton 1, Basketball 4, Gymnastics 1, Shooting 1, Swimming 1). This is the most ever, which is surprising as this was the first Youth Olympics the country was not eligible for wild card/tripartie spots. All athletes qualified or received an unused quota spot. The medal hopes lie with two athletes in track and field. Their 2000m girls' steeplechase runner is 3rd ranked in the world and their boys' high jumper is ranked tied for fourth. Hopefully they win their first ever Youth Olympics medal!
  9. Adam Van Koeverden will seek nomination as a liberal party candidate for federal elections in Canada next year. Lets just say we don't agree on politics

  18. If Canada and USA are confirmed qualifiers in the DR, that means Brazil can't qualify for Lima 2019. However, I am not sure on this one.
