  2. Hoping we can win a couple of gold medals today.
  3. Neither women’s waterpolo or women’s field hockey seem to be likely. Men’s waterpolo has a small chance against the US but won’t be favoured.
  4. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe all of have qualified for the OQT at the very least?
  5. 1-1… nothing going right for Canada today
  6. Two quarters hadn’t even finished when you posted that, buddy
  7. Adam Thomson wins bronze in men’s 74kg freestyle wrestling.
  8. Rudy Winkler has also been named to the athletics team if you’re wondering.
  9. And another bronze, as Shaul Gordon loses 15-8 to US’s Andrew Doddo in the men’s sabre semifinals.
  10. Disastrous day for Canada so far only keeps getting worse… I’m getting deja vu from Beijing 2022
  11. Fares Arfa wins bronze in men’s sabre, losing 15-12 in the semifinals to Venezuela’s Eliecer Romero.
  12. Bronze for Ruien Xiao after a 15-10 loss to Peru’s Maria Doig in the women’s epee semifinals. Way too defensive throughout the bout.
  13. Gaby Dabrowski/Erin Routliffe (New Zealand) start 2-0 at the WTA Finals, after a 6-4, 6-2 win over Vera Zvonareva/Laura Siegemund (Russia/Germany) 5th WTA Finals for Dabrowski, no semifinals yet, but it may well change this year. Fun fact, Routliffe formerly represented Canada, but switched to New Zealand in 2017. She also has a sister, Tess Routliffe who represents Canada in para swimming!
  14. Canada qualifies a full team in equestrian jumping through the Pan Am Games!
  15. Ruixen Xiao defeats fellow Canadian Alexanne Verret 15-9 to advance to the women’s epee semifinals!
  16. Fares Arfa and Shaun Gordon advance to the quarterfinals in men’s sabre! Arfa defeated Mexico’s Brandon Romo 15-8, while Gordon defeated Peru’s Fabian Huapaya 15-11.
  17. Esebua and Gupta don’t have a Canadian passport yet, thus ineligible to compete at the Pan Am Games.
  18. Double bronze in men’s/women’s singles table tennis. Mo Zhang got beat 4-3 by Puerto Rico’s Adrianna Diaz in the women’s singles semifinals (not totally unexpected that she lost), while Eugene Wang got beat 4-1 by Cuba’s Andy Pereira Diez.
  19. These 4th place jokes are starting to get overused now…
