  15. @Belle Called it!
  16. Fair enough. I will say he’s one of the most consistent Olympic performers, he’s medaled in the men’s 100m/200m/4x100m in both Olympics he’s competed in (Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020)
  17. Lot’s of comebacks from injury lately! Watson and now Metivier! Hopefully we’ll be seeing McBride and Knight in action soon.
  18. I’m bored, so I decided to take a crack at roster predictions for Canada in the team sports we’ve already qualified in. Let’s see how wrong I am in a month (This’ll be edited, as I dont want the content to get erased) Women’s Rugby 7s Olivia Apps Krissy Scurfield Olivia De Couvreur Charity Williams Alysha Corrigan Fancy Bermudez Chloe Daniels Asia-Hogan Rochester Keyara Wardley Carissa Norsten Piper Logan Sophie de Goede Florence Symonds/Breanna Nicholas out. Women’s Basketball Kia Nurse Bridget Carleton Nirra Fields Natalie Achonwa Syla Swords Laeticia Amihere Kayla Alexander Shay Colley Aaliyah Edwards Cassandre Prosper Sami Hill Yvonne Ejim Women’s Waterpolo Jessica Gaudreault Axelle Crevier Emma Wright Verica Bakoc Serena Browne Shae La Roche Hayley McKelvey Kindred Paul Elyse Lamay-Lavoie Floranne Carroll Maria Mimides Clara Vulpisi (not sure if Claire Wright has retired…) Women’s Football Kailen Sheirdan Sabrina D’Angelo Adriana Leon Janine Beckie Cloe Lacasse Vanessa Gilles Nichelle Prince Quinn Jordyn Huitema Kadeisha Buchanan Ashley Lawrence Jessie Fleming Julia Grosso Desirae Scott Deanne Rose Jayde Riviere Gabrielle Carle Evelyn Viens Jade Rose Maybe Simi Awujo/Shelina Zadorsky as dark hors picks. Men’s Basketball Jamal Murray Zach Edey Shai Gilgeous-Alexander RJ Barrett Andrew Nembhard Andrew Wiggins Kelly Olynk Dillon Brooks Nickel Alexander-Walker Dwight Powell Lu Dort Shaedon Sharpe No Benedict Mathurin (injury related reasoning, I would put him over Sharpe if healthy), Melvin Ejim, Chris Boucher, Corey Joseph or Trey Lyles. Men’s Volleyball Stephen Maar Arthur Szwarc Eric Loeppky Fynn McCarthy Xander Ketrzynski Jordan Schnitzer Danny Demyanenko Justin Lui Landon Currie Luke Herr Nicholas Hoag Lucas Van Berkel Still can’t believe Sclater and Perrin have retired from the NT…
  19. I’ll do that after week 2 probably. Still a lot of matches to be played.
  20. Eh. Germany played really well today but I thought they were unlikely to cause the upset with how well Canada have been playing, and the fact that they don’t have Orthmann (still recovering from injury?) and Drewniok (who retired from the national team again after week) on the team.
  21. Canada sweep Germany during match 6 of Women’s VNL, improving their record to 4-2! With that we increase our lead to 13.7 points over Netherlands for the final spot at Paris! (Although Netherlands do take on a depleted Dominican Republic squad early tomorrow, which should close down the gap momentarily) Canada played really well today. 54 attack points, 8 blocks, 7 aces, 6 opponent errors, and 11 unforced errors. 6 of the unforced errors were from Kiera Van Ryk Wish we played like this against the United States. Gray was probably the player of the match for us, but Mitrovic has a great game as well, very efficient with her attacking.
  22. sweep 6.52 points towards our World Ranking, increasing our lead over Netherlands for the final Olympic quota to 13.7 points!! KVR put up a few errors near the end (hasn’t been having the best of weeks), but redeemed herself with 4 control blocks on set point, and the game winning swing into the corner.
  23. Alsmeier is so fine
  24. AND WE’VE DONE IT AGAIN!! All four Canadians are through to the 3rd round!! Special shoutout to Andresscu, who recovered from an error prone opening set to upset Kalinskaya in 3.
