  1. Ethan Katzberg with the meet of his life at the Kip Keino Classic. By a fucking mile. Before today his PB in men’s hammer throw was 81.25m at the 2023 World Championships, where he became a surprise World Champion. Starts off with 81.79m in R1, then 82.06m in R2, 81.50m in R4, 84.38m (!! yes you heard me right) in R5, and 83.26m in R6. That’s 5 marks under his previous PB (the other one was a foul), and a 3.13m improvement. Edit: Also moves him to #9 on the all-time list, none of the athletes above him are still competing. Not to mention he’s only 21 (!) years old, in an event where athletes don’t peak until later on in their career. @intoronto @Topicmaster1010 @james89 @orangeman @NearPup

  10. 17.51m for Pichardo in Round 6, who takes the win in his return from injury! Doesn’t look impressed however. Zango second with a best mark of 17.12m.
  11. I know it’s technically not yet over but I’d add men’s triple jump to that list
  12. 18 year-old (or should I say young) Haylom with a new PB of 3:53.22 also!
  13. 3:50.30 in the women’s 1500m for Tsegay!!! 3rd fastest time in history.
  14. WL for Marco Arop in the men’s 800m at the Xiamen Diamond League in 1:43.61! Really good time for him this early in the season.
  15. Triple jump has been quite disappointing so far. Especially Zango, who has only recorded a best mark of 16.71m after Round 4. But I can’t say I was expecting much, the field besides Zango, Pichardo, and maybe Yu isn’t the strongest.
  16. Mondo never fails to amaze me. Just wow. Still trying to recover from that and it’s been almost 30 minutes.
  17. 13.11 WL for Roberts in the men’s 110m hurdles!
  18. Beatrice Chepkoech records a new WL of 8:55.40 in the women’s 3000m steeplechase!
  19. Allman improves her best mark to 69.80m in the 5th round!
  20. SB for Allman in the 4th round of women’s discus throw, with a very impressive 69.73m!
  21. 1:43.61 for Arop in the men’s 800m, for a new WL!
  22. WR FOR MONDO DUPLANTIS IN MEN’S POLE VAULT 6.24m!!!!!!!
  23. Sha’Carri*
