  1. Wait a minute. For some reason I thought there was less quotas allocated at the Asian Qualification Tournament than there actually was @Roamingrover86 sorry about that.
  2. None of us Canadians were expecting field hockey quotas (and table tennis if you’re talking about the team events) lol.
  3. I’m just saying you said it yourself. You can predict that India will qualify two boats here, but having it as an expectation while also saying that Hong Kong will be a contender is puzzling.
  4. Don’t think you can expect two quotas then.
  5. Squad for the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta https://www.sailing.ca/road-to-paris-2024-sailing-final-opportunity-to-qualify-additional-olympic-spots-at-the-last-chance-regatta/
  6. #8 Los Angeles Lakers defeat the #7 New Orleans Pelicans 110-106 for the #7 seed in the West and will take on #2 Denver Nuggets in the first round. #7 New Orleans Pelicans will take on the #9 Sacramento Kings for the #8 seed, after the Kings beat the Golden State Warriors 118-94.
  7. Event is live streamed here. https://m.youtube.com/@AustralianDolphinsSwimTeam You might need to go to the SwimSwam live recap page for each session to find links however, as they’re all unlisted.
  8. I don’t know why you’re asking me, I’m not an expert on that “sport” I’ll say Ryan Decenzo and Cordano Russell in men’s street, Fay Ebert in women’s park and that’s it. My predictions may be a tad pessimistic but low expectations = no disappointment.
  9. Hi everyone! A bit of a family emergency is going on right now (my dad isn’t doing too well, he’s on his way to the hospital as I type this), which may explain my lack of inactivity on Totallympics and updating all of the various sporting events If anyone wants to post any of them that’ll be appreciated, and if not then I’ll post them when I’m fully back! Actually, it might even be within a few days. I’ve just thought about it, and when I’m not busy visiting him at the hospital, I might choose to watch/share results of some sports. Bit of a confusing response I know, but to explain my thought process, watching (along with playing, but irrelevant point) sports and sharing results on Totallympics are two of my favourite things to do. Trying to not worry too much when personal problems is hard for me, and it might be what I need to not freak out and have mental breakdowns every couple of minutes. But we’ll see.
  10. Events #1: May 16-19 in Shanghai, China. #2: June 20-23 in Budapest, Hungary. Sports Breaking (10 OQPs per gender) Skateboarding (22 OQPs per gender in men’s/women’s street, and 22 OQPs per gender in men’s/women’s park) BMX Freestyle (6 OQPs per gender) Sport Climbing (12 OQPs per gender in men’s/women’s lead, and 7 OQPs per gender in men’s/women’s speed) OQS Shanghai Schedule https://olympics.com/en/sport-events/olympic-qualifier-series-2024-shanghai/results/schedule OQS Budapest Schedule https://olympics.com/en/sport-events/olympic-qualifier-series-2024-budapest/results/schedule Points System In sport climbing, breaking, and BMX freestyle there’ll be a maximum of 50 points up for grabs (unsure on the amount of points per rank though) in both Shanghai and Budapest, the athletes with the most amount of points qualify for Paris. In skateboarding, it’s a little bit different. They’re using a three-thirds system where 1/3 of each athletes Olympic Qualifier Series Ranking will count, along with 1/3 points in Shanghai, and 1/3 points in Budapest. Right now, Fay Ebert is on 4076 points in women’s park, while in men’s street Cordano Russell is on 20,727 points, Ryan Decenzo is on 18,110 points, Matt Berger is on 7,725 points, and Micky Papa is on 7538 points. Canadian Athletes In Action Sport Climbing - Alannah Yip (women’s combined), Sean McColl (men’s combined), Oscar Bautrand (men’s combined) Skateboarding - Cordano Russell (men’s street), Ryan Decenzo (men’s street), Matt Berger (men’s street), Micky Papa (men’s street), Fay Ebert (women’s park), Samantha Secours (women’s street) Breaking - Tiffany Leung (b-girls), Emma Misak (b-girls)
  11. Says April 17-20
  12. Note, this is Athletics Australia’s first stage of team selection, more athletes will be added to the team in the coming months.
  13. Canadians in action this week. 14. Maybe one of Koe, Jacobs, or Morris will skip the team next? (I know Morris has retired from four-man curling and is probably the worst option out of the three, but it’s still an option…) They could also switch around the roles, maybe Kennedy or Gallant would work as a skip. Not sure on how well that’ll turn out though.
  15. Mo Zhang upset World #31 Nayeong Kim 3-1 yesterday in the group stages of the ITTF Table Tennis WC in Macao!
  16. Time for my unrealistic weekly rundown of events I’ll be watching, and others that I’ll be following. Might have got some times/time durations wrong, but my schedule is extremely flexible this week. Olympic Flame Lighting Ceremony (tomorrow 1:30AM- 3:00AM PST), Beach Volleyball (Elite 16 Tepic, April 17-21), Athletics (Diamond League Xiamen, April 20 from 4:00-7:00 AM, World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships April 21 from 2:55 AM-5:00 AM PST), NHL Hockey (April 16, Canucks v. Flames at 7:00PM PST- 9:45PM PST, April 18, Canucks v. Jets at 5:00PM PST- 7:45 PM PST, and the playoffs starting April 20), Wheelchair Basketball (Gonna decide which Paralympic quota matches on April 20 to watch after the brackets are sorted out. Of course Canada’s match will for sure be one of them), 3x3 Basketball (Women’s Series in Springfield from April 23-24), and pretty much any other athletics meets/club volleyball matches/swimming events that I can find a streaming link for. Whos idea was it to put the Nairobi Continental Tour Gold event and the Xiamen Diamond League one hour apart? Ridiculous scheduling for the two top athletics meets of this week (maybe Mt. Sac Relays has it beat) No Mixed Doubles Curling World Championships (entire event isn’t streaming in Canada and I’m not paying World Curling TV to watch)
  17. has announced they’ll be holding a training camp this week in Massachusetts to determine their Olympic team. Participating athletes include Azana Baines, Cameron Brink, Cierra Burdick, Christina Dalce, Blake Dietrick, Allisha Gray, Dearica Hamby, Linnae Harper, Rhyne Howard, Lexie Hull, Kelsey Mitchell, Lucy Olsen, Katie Lou Samuelson, Madison Scott, Hailey Van Lith, Mikaylah Williams and Camille Zimmerman. Two of the four players have to be ranked within the top 10 of the World Rankings. I’m guessing it’ll be Brink/Van Lith/Samuelson/Howard, let’s see how wrong I am later though lol. https://www.usab.com/news/2024/04/2024-usa-3x3-womens-national-team-training-camp-roster-announced
  18. have announced 11 players on their 12-man Olympic roster. Stacked. 19. My mistake then, I misread that part of it. 1. Agree about Australia being clearly faster on the freestyle leg, and equal on the butterfly leg. For backstroke, it depends on what time Masse can produce at Trials but if she’s in 58 low form around half a second. For breaststroke, it depends again on what times Branton/Angus/LePage/Wog can produce. 1:05 mid combined with a 1:07 low from McKeown (assuming she swims the breaststroke leg for Australia) and MacNeil outsplitting McKeon by a couple of tenths could be enough to get it done. Wouldn’t bet on it happening though. 2. Ok true, maybe I forgot about Tang who was 1:05.29 at this years Worlds, but with the rapid improvement that our breaststrokers have been on I’m thinking they’ll close the gap to within a few tenths. Plus they’ve been putting some decent times recently while not being fully tapered? My prediction is also under the assumption that Masse will be back at her best come Trials and eventually the Olympics (as indicated by her early season times), and Masse is a way faster backstroker (more than half a second faster) than Letian/Xueer if they’re all swimming near their best.
  20. Great that they’ll be streaming pretty much everything, but I hope they’ll have separate streams for track and all the various field events at Paris. Most the time on athletics streams they only show replays of field events, it’s rarely ever live. Canada has medal potential in both, and I wouldn’t want to miss anything live. Also hope that Brittany MacLean will be at Paris for swimming. Edit: Just messaged with Devin, the field events will have live streams as well.
  21. Men’s wheelchair basketball team qualifies for Paris! 0-3 in pool play, but defeat Italy 72-60 in the Paralympic qualification match to continue their streak of competing at every single Paralympics since 1968!!
